Former DHS Chief Executive Kathryn Campbell, along with 11 other public servants, breached the Commonwealth Public Service code of conduct 97 times during their involvement in the Coalition's illegal and immoral robodebt scheme but will NOT face sanctions:

But Campbell's response is to go full Linda Reynolds and use The Australian newspaper to claim SHE is the victim...

Edit: And a reminder for those who have forgotten or choose to forget, here Kathryn Campbell ducking and diving from any care or responsibility on the witness stand of the Robodebt Royal Commission:

Campbell’s claims are revisionist nonsense. She appeared in front of numerous estimates hearings where she is obliged to truthfully respond to questions from Parliamentarians. At these hearings plenty of issues were raised about the legality and ethics of Robodebt. For her to claim that she was not made aware of issues with the program is ridiculous.

Regards

S. Pete

the diarrhea factory is obsessed with a few seat upgrades while letting the people responsible for the sheer obnoxiousness of robo-debt have get-out-of-jail-free passes.

I don't care if politicians get free uppgrades to an airport lounge where they get cheese boards, sexual favours of whatever. I care if politicians or public servants perpetuated a deadly scheme to steal from the poor that they knew was illegal.

Surely Brereton must be sacked or forced to resign if the NACC has any hope of redeeming its reputation.

He believes disquiet about NACC is not widespread.

"The NACC commissioner, Paul Brereton, does not accept there is “widespread” disquiet about the federal integrity body after the fallout of its decision not to investigate robodebt referrals.

Under questioning by Greens senator David Shoebridge, and Liberal MP Keith Wolahan, Brereton accepted there was some public distrust but it was not widespread. The Nacc commissioner said:

I’m, frankly, not as pessimistic about the current position of public trust as some are. I agree that there are some sectors and segments which do not have trust in the commission … I think they are probably segments that may never have really been inclined to trust the commission but there are certainly some that do not have trust in the commission.

Brereton said public support from the Nacc parliamentary committee and federal politicians “would go a long way to reinforcing public trust, I think”.

Personally, I think his position is untenable, but these old dodgy lawyers seem to want to hold on to power at all costs and not care about the damage they do. He needs to be corrected in his misunderstanding. I note there is nothing on his wiki page about his actions. This will be corrected.

I'm happy to start a petition on Change.org with something like this:

Paul Brereton, the head of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) in Australia, has faced significant controversy, regarding his decisions related to the Robodebt scandal. The Robodebt scandal involved an unlawful debt recovery scheme by the Australian government, which falsely accused welfare recipients of owing money. The Royal Commission into Robodebt referred six individuals to the NACC for investigation. However, Brereton decided not to investigate these referrals, citing resource constraints and the extensive work already done by the Royal Commission

Clear Conflict of Interest
Brereton's decision not to investigate was further complicated by a conflict of interest. He had a prior professional relationship with one of the individuals referred to the NACC. Although he delegated the decision-making to a deputy commissioner, he did not fully recuse himself from the process. This led to findings of "officer misconduct" by the NACC's independent inspector, Gail Furness.

The decision not to investigate the Robodebt referrals and the conflict of interest led to widespread criticism and calls for Brereton's resignation. Critics argued that his involvement created a perception of bias and undermined the integrity of the NACC. It has also created a lack of confidence in the NACC and it's governance. Brereton is so out of touch he doesn't even recognise how widespread the discontent is. He needs to resign or be sacked immediately.

What do you think?

Added - I had to search the name Brereton to make sure there wasn't already a petition about it. I did find one petitioning to stop Dermott Brereton calling West Coast matches, presumably from disgruntled supporters. Only 18 have signed and I would have also if it petitioned Dermott from calling any matches.

Added again - Brisbane supporters have also put up a petition to stop Dermie calling their matches.

What do you think?

I agree that Brereton should not call any future AFL matches.

Both THAT Brereton and the other Brereton seem quite oblivious to the widespread disquiet about their performance. Suggest it has a lot to do with the particular insular circles they inhabit.

I'll definitely sign this petition, (ignoring that it I might Dox myself in the process) 😜
