The Saints will finish top 4

Gees, lets just make the 8 first. I'd be happy for us to play consistent footy and make the finals - that'd be great. Although as mentioned, it would take a hurculean effort for any team to beat Geelong right now. They are in stunning form, it just seems like they can step on the accelerater whenever they feel like it and crush the opposition - even minus Ling and Ablett they pantsed the second best team in the comp. That's downright scary.

Long way to go yet.

Must win every game coming in and hope a few others lose.

Nice to win a 'final', though. Hopefully Sydney's wheels fall off but I don't see it happening.

The fact that you play coll who you are equal points with, and they play the swans who they beat last time in Syd.

Collingwood have

Ess
Hawks
Saints
Port away
Sydney at home
then Freo away

Swans have

Carlton
Adelaide
WB away
Freo
Geelong at home
Adelaide again? at home
Coll
and then Bris

Dunno that 4th is all that great a position this year. You get your bum spanked in week 1 by the Cats, then play 5th in week 2, likely to be Collingwood at the G. Then you have to face either the Dogs or Hawks with a week's rest. Pretty tough road to hoe.

Dude, no offence, but if we make the four we'd be happy to face Man Utd at Old Trafford in week one.

And we'd be quite happy to roll the dice against the Cats in week one, knowing we'd probably play Hawthorn/WB for a spot in the GF.

I can see advantages.

No way it would happen but god I'd loved to see the cats knocked out of the finals in straight games, not for the quiet Pussy fans but just for the quietly smugly f**king superior ones.

unfortunately all I have is vain hope that the Hawks will smash them next week in an unbelievable form turnaround....god this year sucks :D

If we win every game, we only need the winner of the Brisbane - Sydney game in round 22 to lose one game.

As far as that ladder predictor goes I get:

Geelong
Western Bulldogs
Hawthorn
Sydney
Collingwood
Adelaide
St Kilda
Brisbane

This is only going by who would be considered favourites by current ladder positions though, everyone knows that anything can happen on any given day.

surely this is a joke.

.... are you watching foxtel???? if the blues win, which I didn't count on, ( no disrespect for carlton but I was being conservative in my ladder predictor), then the Swans are in huge trouble.

Essendon

could easily win all 6.

Should start favourites in all games but possibly evens in the Pies game. I give them every chance. Percentage is a worry. If they win all 6 they'll get 4th.

So you will beat the Hawks and the Saints?

The poster said if Pies only lose 1 more game, as long as it's not against the Swans, they should nail 4th. Probably due to percentage.

That means they can lose to either Saints or Hawks and still make 4th.

Swans game is at TD which is a concern but saints game is at the 'G' which gives us a better chance.

Nah we won't make the top 4, as much as I'd like to think we will.

The mere fact that we're a genuine chance is a credit to the club though and should have some eating their words.

I've got Collingwood in 4th, but that's assuming we only drop one more match. We will clearly drop at least 2, so that means Saints will finish 4th for me too.

It won't happen.

... can you give me a reason why? Collingwood play the Swans, looser out of contention, then the saints play Collingwod.

So if Collingwood beat the swans, then the Saints beat the pies then it's Saints in pies out.

Other games have to work out as well.

Remember the swans play Geelong

As simplistic as it may sound, Sydney are simply a better side than St Kilda.

St Kilda will finish 7th-8th.
