I for one don't think the Saints were looking at a dismal season sitting at 2-7. It's all about the draw. We knew the first half was more difficult than the second.
North Melbourne is an excellent case to prove it. 9-0 playing every bottom team in the first half, but look at them now as they hit the difficult part of their draw.
Which is why you can only judge a season when it's over.
Most Saints supporters were expecting a few more wins than last year so I think we have exceeded expectations with 5 more games to go.

Looking who we lost to and their current ladder position Hawks 1st, GWS 2nd, WC 5th, Bulldogs 7 th, North 8 th ,Port 10th

On that would say 9th but who knows maybe we get lucky but if we lose to Richmond and or the Blues then we still look average

We were 2 wins 6 losses or 2 wins from 8 games so 2-7 was either a little better or worse then the reality.
