If Lyon rejoins Breakfast then I won't be listening, wait, I haven't listened for 2 years so this wouldn't be enough for me to come back.
As much as I think he's a self important flog, Leach needs to stay in some format. He adds a lot to the stations credibility, so long as he doesn't get caught up in the teenage antics that the others can bring e.g. Ox, Allen.
Allen needs to go, Ox needs to go, maybe try something different and give Craig Harper a key slot alongside someone else. The bloke knows his stuff and I've heard him discuss sports other than just fitness and weightlifting and he seems to have a decent knowledge.

Agreed. Francis is eloquent, can formulate dicussion, and reads more than the herald sun. Isnt afraid of rocking the afl cart.

felt sorry for the bloke who said geelongs should be "back in black". so awkward, silence from frank/ox, then a shuffle and um uh not sure about that, they trying to figure out what that means.
the caller poor bloke was probably gonna tell all his mates about getting on, and for his slogan to fall flat on his face would be soul destroying.

I reckon getting Gary Lyon would be a good thing. Kind of like recruiting an ageing footballer on the back of a knee reco, he's going to be cheap and no one else wants him so it's a good move.

I'll say if McLachlan and Lyon are hired, then at least it's a genuine change. So I think it has potential. Darren Berry didn't look out of place filling in for Maher. Ox couldn't do as well despite having more experience and being on the station longer.

Station needs to get more out of Matt Granland as well. Very much under utilised.
Heard that as well, and it was a bit awkward.
I know it's just meant as a bit of fun, but segments like the above seem a bit childish and mainly filler to me. It's hardly quality radio.
Is there really nothing else to talk about or no better way to use the time than to throw the lines open for people to suggest inane slogans?
It is childish radio, but what else would you expect from them.

great post. struggle bus is good, the regular segments are good, and survive cause there's always material. but creating new ones like that one fall dead on face. much like when finey used to ask callers to nominate the best player to wear number 7. Time filler.
hope they podcast the gideon haigh interview. could listen to GH all day.
