I heard bits of it and it didn't come across as the best show.

haha. Everytime I see or hear about Warner, that man's "rockstar" comment comes to mind instantaneously. It was possibly one of the most over the top comments ever to a sports person.

How does it compare with Tim Watson's comment that Warner was the most exciting thing to happen to Australian cricket in the past 10 years?

It was alright when Mark Doran wasn't trying to take it over. Its always better when Rita or Harf are driving the show.:thumbsu: Rippa Rita was in good form on friday she kicked Careys and Nixons arse better thsn anyone else in the media. She also gave Cooney plenty of praise :thumbsu: he is my fav player not at the cats. Thought he was the only thing that savef the footy show.

Its not just those two, they all have short memories on radio:thumbsdown:. Soon as someone new comes along they are the best ever. Tim Watson doesn't know much about anything other than footy. I stopped listening to mg now that Billy is gone. He wasn't always good eithr but he could be funny atleast.:thumbsu:

Theres lot of criticism here but there is plenty on the station that is good and getting better. KB has been in great form and been good to hear him with Mark Allan and Dr Turf and the storm guy.:thumbsu: Off the bench is also good listening when the original team are on.; Why do they keep messing with it when it works fine how it is? The run home is another winner. Only time I switch it off is when Francis goes in to bat for Caro or Eddie.

You kiddies do understand that there was a Perth Band in the early eighties called "Dave Warner and the Suburbs" that had a hit with a song called "Suburban Boy"

The rockstar comments was a reference to that

Ahh .. that would explain why I don't have a clue what SEN are on about most of the time ... I don't have an interest in local WA bands. Silly me. And there I was thinking they may have been discussing sport.

It was number one on the National Countdown Chart for about five or six weeks - Tim Watson would no less about Perth bands than he would about EPL

Clearly that is what Matt Thompson was referring too.

I've heard Matt speaking about making that comment a few times, but I've never heard him mention the Perth band thing or any reason apart from the fact he killed it in 1 innings............

I haven't heard him mention the band either. I was being facetious about another poster who was defending Matt Thompson by making the correlation between this Perth band and the reason why Matt Thompson calling him a 'rockstar.' For all of us who listen to SEN, it is no surprise to hear something like this come out of Matt Thompson's mouth. He likes to talk things up just a little.

matt struggles with days of the week let alone remembering w/a bands of the early 80's.
btw, i seem to remember an episode of packed to the rafters that had this band on it and the old man was supposed to have co-written the song with a character played by craig mclachlan. am i imagining this or does anyone else remember this, fwiw my mrs made me watch it that 1 night.

I listened to a bit of the overnight team last night after midnight and they had Mike Sheahan in the studio (it helps that his son is co-host) and Anthony Mundine on the phone for about 10mins as well.

Who'd have thought the best of SEN over the whole weekend (with the exception of BITU) would be after midnight

What a waste having blokes in Australia with some form of credibility on after midnight. Overnights seem to have inflated egos these days. Give Mundine and Mike Sheahan and Peter Everitt who I heard was in the studio next week, to the real shifts, where people will actually listen and care.

Rumours going around SEN that something big may be announced soon, not shocking but a change to the line up. Bit sketchy on details but those more in the know then me say the decision could either be very popular or very not.

Some there suspect it could be Eddie's new show but his edition to Mornings seem to indicate he may just stick with that, they even have ads for the segment. Cant think who else it could be, maybe somebody leaving?

Interesting. Could it be Eddie announced as having his own daily program? Doran replaced?

KellyKelly....If the overnight guys can get Mundine in studio, all credit to them. That is a great guest and their producers should be congratulated, not cracked on.
Your posts are quite transparent. All I have seen from you in the past week has been bad mouthing the overnight show. You obviously have an issue with the overnight guys and the company that sponsors that show. Why?
