Alf Andrews Medal

It is my honour to officially award the Rats spearhead Gray Day the Alf Andrews Medal for finishing the season as the leading goalkicker with a final tally of 81. This is a great award and puts GD in very esteemed company. It wasn't easy for Gray Day, it still took a sensational second half in the final game to hold off Fred and ShanDog but the job was done and done well.

To Gray Day, the Season 22 Mobbs Medallist.

Rounds 5 - 8 with thanks to Van_Dyke

Round 5. 5 rounds of mayhem. The 5th round of a Quivorir captaincy. 5 rounds for
Hoooops to annoy the league. The WFL and KohPhi divorce had escalated, with WFL having played his last game for the club. Rookies such as Oddhawk, Far Kern, miggs to name a few, had made an immediate impact. The Bears were loving life, on top of the ladder and without loss. Would this change in round 5? Time will tell. The real key of round 5, however, was my very own #matchthreadmonday. What a round that was

Fixtures

Coney Island Warriors vs Dragons FFC at Van Cortlandt Park
Geelong Wolves vs East Side Hawks at The Lair
Gold City Royals vs Mount Buller Demons at The Golden Throne
West Coast Wonders vs Las Vegas Bears at The Colosseum
Fighting Furies vs Sin City Swamprats at Punt Road
Baghdad Bombers vs Roys FFC at Abdu Prison

Warriors v Dragons:
A game to really get fans excited. I mean, who wouldn't be excited for 7th v 11th? The Warriors really hadn't had the start they would like under Wooshette's captaincy, while the Dragons had gone 2 and 2, with room to improve. The two sides both kept it tight early, with only two points in at the first break, but the Warriors kicked 4 goals to the one of the Dragons in the 2nd, giving them a 3 goal lead. This lead only extended to a 39 point margin at the final break, before finishing at a 50 point margin. Kabanna with 24 and 4 should certainly get votes, along with Jazny and Chappyuk with 29 and 1 both being up there, along with toxic's 28 and 1. Packedlunch with his 5 could receive votes, along with zackah with his 12 tackles. Hate may be the main hop for the Dragons with 21 and 1, along 17 of the 25 hitouts for the game.

Coney Island Warriors 17.14 (116) defeated Dragons FFC 10.6 (66)

Wolves v Hawks:
In a sign of just how bad it was for the Wolves this season, they were already thought of be a lost cause at this early point of the season. The Hawks had had a good start to the season, only losing one game, but that could well change at the Lair. it didn't look like changing early as the Hawks took an early lead, but the Wolves stole the lead late in the 2nd and held it for sometime. The Filth Wizardstood up and the Wolves just stole the win, kicking 3 goals with 2 behinds to win by 6. Jeremias could arguably deserve a vote for his game winning goal, but for the Wolves, votes would be more deserving for the 23 touches of Hatchy1992, 19 and 3 of Kangaroos4eva and 19 and 2 of GWBogan in the ruck. The Hawks could see votes go to Wacky Tiger for his 28 touches in the ruck, along with the 23 touches and a goal of Doctor colossus.
Geelong Wolves 15.7 (97) defeated East Side Hawks 13.12 (90)

Royals v Demons:
The much improved off field Demons, really needed a win to try and establish themselves in season 22, while the Royals were just inside the 8 but with some real room to improve. The Royals got off to a great start, leading at both breaks, to end up being up by 7 at the half. The Demons reduced it to one at the final break and just got the edge, winning by 4. The victors could see votes go to Thatsapaddlin with his 29, BigJoeD_ with 19 and 2 and Blacky or J Shuttlesworth with 24 and 20 touches respectively, along with a goal. For the Demons, BRAB's 19 and 1 starting at full back was impressive, along with the 24 touches of cooney and the 20 and 1 of yours truly.

Gold City Royals 14.7 (91) defeated Mount Buller Demons 13.9 (87)

Wonders v Bears:
The new look and dominant Bears came up against the season 21 premiers, who were in 5th. The Bears hadn't been challenged as of yet with 4 successive wins, and it looked like that wasn't going to change, as they were up by 27 at the first break and it only extended to 41 at the main break. Any possible comeback was ended after the 3rd term, which saw the Bears up by 63 at the final break, before finishing at 70 points. SpaceClef had an elite 25 and 3, while the 6 goals of brahj and 20 and 3 of Dingster. The 22 and 1 of Gee Dub could be up there.
West Coast Wonders 11.5 (71) lost to Las Vegas Bears 21.15 (141)

Furies v Swamprats:
Spam. Spam spam spam. Have some more spam. I feel disgusted my name is a part of that yhr ad. 81 ******* pages. 5 more pages after the game... That's basically a Wolves team thread. The game looked like it would be a classic, with both sides kicking 37 points after the first term, but the Furies could only manage one goal, as they went down 27 points at the half. The Furies couldn't hit the scoreboard in the 3rd, down by 63 at the final break, which became 84 when the siren went, a terrific Swamprats win.
Gray Day with 7, sportsmaniac89 with 20 and 3, spookism with 28 and 1, Ant Bear with 24 and 1 all chances of votes. tgrs with 20 and 1, along with Michaels with 21 touches are the only possible chances for the Furies.
Fighting Furies 9.2 (56) lost to Sin City Swamprats 21.14 (140)

Bombers v Roys:
Traditionally both these sides don't win. Therefore it is odd that they play each other, for a winner is likely to result from it. Both sides proved why they traditionally aren't the greatest. There was 4 scoring shots at the first break. Ross Lyon would look at that and think it was low scoring. Bombers was up by 7, but the Roys multipled there score by 36, to be up by 2 goals at the break. This then became 14 points at the final break, and while the Bombers came back, they ended up losing by 4.
Mooch had 24 and 1, while Loonerty got 21 touches and Mighty P had a good 19 in and under. dennis crumpet was best on with 22 and 3 in the ruck, while HaroLad got 4 goals and KohPhi had 18 touches with 7 tackles and could feature
Baghdad Bombers 10.8 (68) lost to Roys FFC 10.12 (72)
