This round saw the games go ahead as normal, but with a huge tinge of sadness. For site admin, Roys stalwart, league all time leading goal-kicker and favourite grandfather was taken from us. The loss was felt across the league and across the wider Big Footy community, with many a memory shared and kind word spoken in his honour. RIP Fred.



Gold City Royals 10.7 (67) lost to Coney Island Warriors 13.9 (87)

Both teams in spoon contention, the Royals had found a win last week and the Warriors had amazingly taken 3 in a row. The Royals started off well and early in the third term they found themselves 4 goals to the good. But 7 unanswered goals for the Warriors, led ably by craffles (3.2) and Reginald Perrin (29 disposals, 1 goal). Thatsapaddlin took BoG from the losing side with 26 disposals and 3 goals straight, but Blacky had a stinker, kicking 0.3 from just 3 touches.

Baghdad Bombers 8.10 (58) lost to Dragons FFC 9.10 (64)

After drawing in their previous meeting - and we all know how much fun that is - these teams were keen to get one over the other. So to that end, they served up a low scoring and frankly dull game. The highlight of this game really was the ruck contest between KohPhi and Hate. Itsmyshow would undoubtedly be upset with his 3.5 goal performance. Just one of those misses on target, and who knows what could have happened?

Las Vegas Bears 17.16 (118) defeated West Coast Wonders 17.7 (109)

After something of a hot streak lately, the Wonders were looking to steal eighth place from the inconsistent Bears. The Bears took objection to this thinking, and in an entertaining high scoring game, just got the job done. Noidenous and tim_saints played plenty of keep ball (29 disposals each). PVF and BallaratBulldog kicked 10 goals between them, but with 33 scoring shots, the Bears fell over the line by virtue of the numbe of shots they missed.

East Side Hawks 13.7 (85) defeated Roys FFC 12.9 (81)

The fourth placed Hawks were aiming to gain ground on second placed Roys. The atmosphere in this game was understandably muted. This game was a game of individual performances. Roys skipper fitzroybowiedog clung on to a huge 14 tackles, Mooch took 31 disposals and Elton Johns Wig not only won the ruck but snagged 28 disposals and a couple of goals too. Fred fittingly kicked 4.2 but Milera2Betts couldn’t let the man have his day, kicking the sealer with a minute to go.

Mount Buller Demons 11.5 (71) lost to Geelong Wolves 14.10 (94)

In what was clearly anything but MOTR, two teams on winless runs faced up to the contest, but it was the Wolves who ended their streak. Despite 3 goals straight from both RodneyDangerfield and sante, and a stellar ruck performance from Oddawk, it was the workmanlike Wolves who put on a solid team performance to take home the prize. Well, all except for BotsMaster who didn’t register a stat. Shame on you.

Sin City Swamprats 15.11 (101) lost to Fighting Furies 22.16 (148)

The two form teams of the comp faced up in the MOTR. The Furies led pretty much from the off, and despite the Swampies getting close early in the third, the Furies were never going to end their streak today. And boy were they going to tell everyone about it too. This was the _Cayz_ game. In a phenomenal performance, he got 16 hitouts (Ant Bear got 19 but what are you gonna do?), 35 disposals and 6 - count ‘em: SIX - goals. This incredible performance earned him 156 DT points and a place in Sweet FA history. Conversely, Grockadoc didn’t get his hands on the ball once but gave away a free kick and ended up on -3 DT points. Ant Bear and Noobz0r got plenty of the ball but could only watch in awe as _Cayz_ undid all their hard work to drive the Furies to an 8 goal win.

i think its hilarious u kids talking shit about Filthy. u wouldnt say this shit to him at Coles, hes jacked. not only that but he wears the freshest clothes, eats at the chillest restaurants and hangs out with the hottest dudes. yall are pathetic
