players like rioli tend to develop early because of their speed. He will be a very good player. Cotchin hasn't played a game yet, so why are you judging him? I reakon Cotchin will be a star as will plamer, myers, morton and masten. Rioli will be a good player at providing pressure and kicking goals. I don't think he is strong enogh to play as a midfielder

As a neutral, I'd take Cotchin if we were offered any player from last years draft, even though Rhys Palmer has been outstanding.

Everybody who is labeling a cotchin or any other player from the 2007 draft a dud is right. After all if a player does not become a star in the senior side within the first five games of the season then it is clear that the club should give up on them and delist them. Even if they had an injury and couldn't play anyway.
Makes me wonder why Hawthorn supporters didn't label Muston or Dowler a dud when they did not become stars within the first five rounds in 2006 (their first season after they were drafted.).

Rioli dropped out of the Top 10 because of a perceived (yet false) attitude problem and the "go home" factor that persuaded a few of the interstate clubs not to take him.
Also, please remind us where the likes of James Hird and Chris Grant were taken in their respective drafts.

I'd much rather having a young promising key foward/ruckman in Kruezer then someone like Rioli, who lets face it, players like him are as common as muck ..
