Tha

ts true as well although I'd say that the majority of people on here are reasonably educated and knowledgable enough about our team and where our players are at and yes the coaches may be looking for something that we don't know about but at various times I'd say that there has be a strong consensus on here if disbelief or confusion as to his dropping or non selection
Having been to training on occasions, I have noticed the frustration of the coaches that Acres wont follow instructions.
During match sim in pre season he was wondering off numetous times until a line coach yelled out ' Blake what the #$@# are you doing?'.

Acres seems like he is unable to follow instructions and concentrate to the level the coaches feel is warranted at this level.
His game on the weekend was less than ordinary.
Like P66 I rate Acres, but he needs to get his arse in gear and learn what is expected.

When he does he will shine. From what I have witnessed the coaches are managing him the way he should be managed at this point in his development.

I understand that, I still think there have been times where he even if he has not been following instructions his form and play has been better then others who may be following instructions. I think though everytime he gets dropped it takes him a while to get going agin when he plays at AFL level as opposed to if we had left him playing at AFL level and working through some of the issues at the top level instead of vfl. Case in point was round 1 last year, For many it was one of his best performances and then IIRC he was dropped because he did not perform for 4 quarters but he was far from the worst player on the ground. Another example was in the pre season when he was not playing in the practise games becuase of his poort disposal bu then came out and had 100 disposal efficency on top of th fact that others had far worse disposal efficency then he did.

So you want to keep a guy who isn't following instructions because he looks to have played better. What if him not following instructions cost us big time? These are the things we don't have a clue about. It isn't as if Richo wants him or the side to fail.

Well thanks for putting words into my mouth I agree there are times when he needs to be dropped but as I have said I think there have been times wher eh as been treated unequally from the outisde based on what we as supporters and knoweldgeable supporters can see

No that's not what he is saying. He is giving his opinion on Arces. Which is what this forum is about - people giving their opinions. Surely people can do this without you nit-picking every little thing. Yes and we know that we don't know what is going on in the coaches box and that Richo knows better than us and the coaches know more than us as well. We don't need to be told this every second post.

You need a few mavericks in every squad, as much as tight discipline is great for consistency etc even Ross Lyon always has a few players who are allowed to get off the chain a bit. Guys like Aker and Dane Swan made a career out of unpredictable and erratic thinking. Blake needs to just get himself to a level where his game is so good they can't drop him.

Wowee. There is a simple answer if you don't like my posts. Put me on ignore because for all your whinging about what I say I'm not changing. You do understand the words wasting your time because that is what you are doing by telling me what I can respond with. How can a person who mows lawns possibly get upset like you seem to be with me. Ignore mate ignore.

I understand that but most were probably reigned in when young and learning. Why is he being dropped? Do people actually think we drop a guy to deliberately lose games? As for your last comment well I totally agree.

Has got potential, but I have to agree he is a bit of space cadet. Have seen him a few times at the coffee shop across the road from Moorabbin station. I have had to wait behind the campaigner whilst he decides what he is going to order. He makes hard bloody work out of ordering a coffee and muffin. Think he operates on "Blake time".

My post previous was only what I saw at training. I had the impression that Acres was a bit of a dreamer, the coach yelling at him would somewhat confirm this.

Does it happen every training? Dont know I'm not there. Is it a reason for him being dropped, again I dont know, I am not a coach.

Was put out there to just give some perspective to the belief that Acres is a scapegoat, and Richo is dropping him unfairly.

As P66 says he doesn't want Acres or the team to fail. Is it the right move? Well thats debateable. However the debate must be based in fact, not a thought that turns into fact, like Acres is Richo's scapegoat.

Went pretty well, had a huge moment of 3QT siren.

Watching him closely though he's not actually smart as a footballer. Has average spatial awareness and often loses composure (handballing it into Mavs back). Obviously has clear ability though.

+1.

Pump the games into him as mid resting forward. It's obvious.

Acres is great when he doesnt think and do what comes naturally. As soon as he has time to think about what he should do, thats when he makes mistakes.

I reckon that is what frustrates the coaches with him, he naturally has so much ability but once he has to think about the game plan he just loses it.

I think he is still getting there with his decision making. Sometimes he seems rushed sometimes he seems slow we need to remember that he has only played a two game block ATM. I think we've seen that after a significant block his decision making improves

I would like to see him play in the centre more, that's where he plays his best football and it's not like we have a super strong midfield to break into.

We could really do with having a bigger mid in there at times too rather than just having short people in there like Steven and Ross.

Ross is probably as big and strong as acres. Certainly not much in it.
