All over
Steroid cream, but it seems to come back worse each time she finishes a course. My daughter is afraid of topical steroid withdrawal

She knows it’s long term and has recently been to a naturopath who has started her on a probiotic, zinc, cod liver oil and a diet change but in the mean time it’s just sad seeing her constantly itching and the trauma of having cream rubbed on her 3 times a day
For young youngsters it is so sad to see. I myself endured it, and still do. However, in a mature and experienced body, I and others can manage it. When youre an infant, toddler, child, adults tell you not to scartch without empathy or understanding.

Steroids are for bursts or treatment to subdue, but yeah.

The path is full of dermos, natros, gps etc. Its life unfortunately.

i recommend bleach baths to clear any infection/staph, but please speak to a doctor first.

My 18mth grand daughter has eczema and it’s so angry atm - nothing seems to be working

Poor little thing is in so much pain
As a lifelong sufferer of ectopic dermatitis, I have found that QV flare up oil has worked wonders for me when I can feel a flare up happening. It should be on the shelf at any chemist. Long term use of steroid creams is not good as it can weaken your skin over time. Good luck with it all, for mine excessive heat and sweat can trigger my dermatitis.

Off The Couch , are they looking into allergies for your granddaughter? A lot of dermatitis/eczema can be triggered by an allergy. When I was young we found the synthetic tongue in my adidas campus shoes were triggering dermatitis. Best thing my parents did when i was young was to take me to an allergy specialist.

She is allergic to dairy

Doctors are loathe to acknowledge that eczema may be gut related, whereas everything we read and even the naturopath that we saw, said that it is and that repairing the gut from the initial damage done by dairy is the first thing we need to look at - going to be a long road made all the more difficult by the fathers family who “don’t believe in all that shit” and won’t come to the party with dietary changes

Yeah gut health is extremely important and underrated imo. I had a lot of antibiotics as a child, one has now been found to cause growth hormone issues which I had and which my son had and we used the same antibiotics as him. I reckon half my issues when young were caused by antibiotics killing all the good gut bacteria.
