So tricky.............. etasl1 may be:

1. steal one
2. stale one
3. slate one
4. E...last one
5. Ale onset
6. Sale note
7. Nose tale

You can never tell.

Were you using scrabble tiles to work that out?

Reminds me of a scene from the movie 'sneakers'. Great film.

Not necessarily, my turban wearing friend.
If I worked for an employer that I loved all my life, that my father had worked for, and that had payed me very well for a lot of years, I would be very reluctant to leave for a few extra $$$.

But I am still one of the dying breed who thinks loyalty is not yet dead.

Understand your sentiment there Toadie but unfortunately, since the game has gone fully professional with huge pay-packets & media deals as well as the newly established Free Agency thrown on top, loyalty & old school values went right out the door.

Very probably. There will be interest when he is a freebie... but from an opposition perspective, as things stand, he's not worth actually giving anything up for. As usual, we've shown our hand way too early, and this time Michael Voss ain't gunna save us.

Really, the best we can do from here is keep him, and hope we've put the wind up him. But I'm not optimistic on either count.

I'm sorry but WE did not show our hand. In fact the club has said absolutely nothing about Robinson to anyone. It was his loud mouth manager.

I wouldn't be holding my breath for him to be around next year. GONE.

There is the odd one that stays despite being offered big bucks to move.

Apparently both Waite and Frawley at Freo....not sure if its already been reported

Mark Robinson rhetoric. Frawley was over there listening to their pitch. Has heard the pitch of Geelong last weekend and will talk to Hawks after finals. Cats hot favourite. MR admitted in same passage that he has no idea where Waite will go, just suggests it won't be Carlton. I personally think he stays.

You don't think that we might have said a word too many to his manager? It's one thing to tell his management we're looking to trade him, it's another completely to say, 3 weeks in advance of the trade period, that Robinson won't be at the club next year.

I don't dispute that he's gone. But I'm frustrated beyond belief that his trade value is zero, and I'm not sure we can blame his management for that.

No you can blame Robinson for behaving like a moron after countless warnings :p

Clubs aren't stupid - they know what Robbo has got up to. They knew before Robbo's manager said anything that he was gone.

I wont hate on waite if he leaves. The way I see it, hes got a very limited time to make as much money as he can, why wouldnt you go to the team that offers you the most when your career is almost over?

Because theres other things to consider other than money. I'm not disputing that money is a massive pulling factor, but he's married now and his wife has a business here. He also has a massive history with the club and that should hopefully be another thing for him to consider. Personally I see him as someone who owes the club a great deal as he held out on the last deal to get 3 years and he really hasn't played enough games to justify his last contract.

Yeah I totally agree with you, he does owe us for the clubs years of loyalty to him. Money talks though, if he can play for 2 more years at a different club and earn lets say an extra 150k, then you would be stupid not to take it. Loyalty is dead now, the players should be interested in making as much as they can while they can, after all it is a business. I dont know how much more he could possibly earn if he leaves carlton, but if it were me id leave if I made 100k+ in the time remaining of my career.

Absolutely, he'd be an idiot not to consider it. But it's not just about him anymore in his life and that will certainly be something he needs to think about when making a decision

My point exactly. This mentality hasn't lead to any success in the draft era has it?
exactly correct.........Carlton has floundered since the draft came in.......the club still has not accepted the system where you cannot just buy your way to the top any more.............!!!
