Can't say that I buy the Betts rumour. In fact I would have thought he would have been one of the more calming influences on the group, particularly for Yaz & Jeffy.

Yes it surprised me too but then I assume you are like me and you don't know the players

The image of Betts and Robbo posing as hip hop gangster wannabes is burnt in my memory though

It makes sense, if Hendo or a Jamison gets injured it leaves us with no real structure and we will have to rely on inexperienced players such as Watson and Casboult which would be tough on them. Bringing in a Tarrant/Mckernan/Gumby/Pods gives us mature bodies that have played a minimum 50 games that will still provide the structure whilst allowing Watson and Cas to progress naturally. Although McKernan has not lived up to his potential, he still is an adequate option that is an upgrade on the likes of an 18 year old unproven player.

Three years ago we went down the line of drafting keys, we now only have one left and he has question marks on him still. I think this is a smart move. I would of liked to hear Geelong supporters thoughts when they traded for Mooney who had done nothing to date but showed obvious potential.

It certainly does make sense
Our KPPs stocks are threadbare
After Jamison, Henderson and Waite there is nothing really, a few kids who aren't reliable quality and two rucks who can't play KPP
Fact is it is nigh on impossible to get str KPPs so getting second tier ones with second rounders for example is more realistic
Good thing is KPPs take time, what's to say Tarrant or even Mckernan don't end up good players one day
I'm sure Richmond had no idea Shulz would become a good forward

Obviously you missed the bit where I said from a recent club CEO

I did miss it because you didn't say those words

appreciate the info none the less.

I just wouldnt have though Tazz was available and the Roos would part with a 2nd rounder to get him?

Whether they are used as KPF or the Resting ruck /99th forward they don't work..

There's more chance of them working as a 3rd tall than FF though. We just need to decide on a set 6 up forward and stick with it. Waite, Rowe, Casboult, Warnock, Menzel and Betts were in and out of the side too often.

A second round pick for McKernan, you are kidding.
Shaun McKernan is the new Shane Savage. :rainbow:

Folly to talk down Watson as not reliable, then hitch your wagon to McKernan who has had five years. Failed to nail down a spot with Walker injured. Another Jesse White who teases with his size and athleticism.

They won't give up Tarrant for a second round pick. He's contracted.

Unless the Saints are demanding a 2nd rounder for Dal Santo and they want to pick up another one to use in the draft, considering their first pick is a F/S.

This simply isn't true. Kreuzer has not had the opportunity to play as a resting ruck/3rd tall, possibly a few minutes but definitely not an extended period. When he and Warnock play together, if Kreuzer isn't our main forward, he ends up playing up the ground (which I don't mind).

But the roos would compromise their list if they trade Tazz.

I personally can't see it happening. Maybe it will, who knows.

Their 3 key forwards with no resting ruck is killing them. Petrie and Black are miles ahead of Tarrant and I wouldn't be surprised if Currie comes in to take Tarrant's spot next year, just to relieve Goldstein.

Fantasy football coaches across the country would cheer if this were to happen.

I think he did in the come back against Port in 08 (I think) kicked some crucial goals too

I agree, due to our lack of KPF depth often we've had guys like Kreuzer or Hampson trying to take the number 1 opposition defender, which is never gonna work out too well.

Plus, let's not gloss over the fact our midfield hasn't exactly provided great delivery. Reckon some of the better KPF's in the comp would struggle in our forward line at times.
