I rate casboult much higher than Rowe,
Some do, some don't. We shall see what transpires in 2014.

Both could well end up going the way of hartlett, Edwards, Cloke, McCarthy, Mitchell, livo, sheesh fev and Kennedy are the only kp forwards we have had any success with in recent memory and neither of them worked out either.

Sad to say a little man in big shorts was the best of them and even he has gone now.

I see where you're coming from, but his field kicking isn't to bad. Gets the yips when he's lining up for goal.
He doesn't have any mid range kicking game, its just bomb it long and high and our mids do that enough already...

If we can perfect our gameplan so that we can move the ball quickly he won't have to, just give it off to a Yarran, Walker, Docherty, etc. running past. Quickly stabbing the pass into Hendo.
That would be awesome in a perfect world, just can't see it happening overly consistently. We need someone who can do both options adequately. Like Waite has/can do.

One thing that 2014 will settle and that is the debate about whether cas "just needs more experience and to practice his kicking" or he just isn't afl standard.

Hope it's the former but suspect it's the latter.

Rowe I have higher hopes for.

Casboult used to smash through packs and take opponents out. Ever since he rubbed out Buntine for 8 weeks he's been a bit timid. Hope he hasn't gone soft.

From the same poster on TC that I posted yesterday:

Just some further news. My mate told me today that after golf game with Dochertys dad that they went to pub for dinner. Sam was actually there as well.

He said the deal will hopefully be done tomorrow. Clubs arguing over pick 28 and 29. Nothing new there.

However he further went on to say that after Vossy got sacked tht the older guys with the exception of Brown really alienated the younger players in the group. Further went on to say that the only decent conve he had with Vossy was 2 weeks ago when they had coffee in melb.

I suppose this sums up why a lot of their players want out.

What do you guys think of Karnezis? 191cm and kicked 35 goals in 19 games this year. Could be a good medium-tall forward. Could be used in the Jack Gunston role. I think Collingwood are showing a little interest in him.

Would prefer to give the medium slot to Menzel... A bit more weight on him and he will be unstoppable :)

Can you explain this further? Why would the older players alienate the younger kids because Voss was sacked?

In addition, you are saying Voss never really spoke to Docherty properly in the 2 years he was at the club, but would catch up with him for coffee in Melbourne after he had been sacked?

Im not saying shenanigans here, but just sound like there is holes in the story unless you have more information that you omitted due to brevity. Please advise.

Could very well have been Voss trying to coax Doc into staying with the Lions.

It may not have anything to do with Voss.

If it did, given that they won the preseason the veteran players may feel that their younger players refused to pull their weight throughout the season which led to the dismissal of Voss -- essentially the older players, Voss's mates, need scapegoats and given previous success refuse to blame themselves

With Voss out of the door their (veterans) own future, and hence future pay packets, are brought into question. A new coach is likely to want to turnover a substantial amount of the list meaning that the younger players get greater opportunity and the veterans get pushed out of the door. This often leads to jealousy and the protection of spots of which alienation is a natural by product.

If any of it is true it appears to me as though the Lions locker room is cancerous. This is another by product of former success meeting a period of weakness.

Karnezis has shown some promise but overall I don't think he projects as anything more than an OK footballer. Collingwood are the club linked heavily to him but I don't see him as a necessity or a player we should put too much thought into at all.

At 190cm he's a terrific height for a midfielder who can push forward and provide a dangerous target but he's not one who has shown the aggression to use that big frame to his advantage. Provides really good run and carry when pushing up the ground and knows how to spread away from the contest well to give himself a chance of using that outside run to advantage. Not overly quick across the ground and his disposal is nothing special. Defensively he's poor and that's the area holding him back most. Very much a one-way runner at this stage and that's why he spent the vast majority of this season at reserve level.

Collingwood are right into him as that combination of height and running ability makes for a very attractive prospect and at 21 years old he has many years ahead of him if he works on those deficiencies. I personally wouldn't bother at Brisbane's asking price which is likely to be a 3rd round pick. I don't see Karnezis as staying in Brisbane under any circumstance so we may see him forced to enter the draft with Collingwood more concerned with trades for Jesse White and Taylor Adams.

Pretty much looks like a done with with Doc which will be great.
Essentially a Scotland replacement which might make his decision a little easier as to whether he'll go around again next year.

@WhippingBoySEN: One less Magpie in the Blues nest with Gavin Brown deciding to move on for other opportunities.

I really hope this isn't true.

saw DOC play against lions last night hope we are right about him was pretty ordinary !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
