Not from a merchandise perspective, but from an onfield perspective definitely. Cameron, Patton, Boyd & Tomlinson, they have enough in the talls department. They got 2 high quality experienced players for positions they need, i'd be happy if i was them.

Spot on, Buddy was being pursued purely for his marketing value, they are better off without him, they are actually now addressing deficiencies in their list.

I've tried to push Lucas as an option with no idea whether they would want him or not but, other than him, I can't see one and only lukewarm on trading him anyway. I know that insurance for Patton would be what they want but if he, and the other 2, can stay fit most of the year there may not be many opportunities for Tomlinson.

Boots looks a promising player, he has a fair bit to work on and his build and strength is always going to be a weakness but he's wirey and a nice user of the ball. Just need to correct people who say he is a good spoiler. He's a pretty spoiler but not a good spoiler. Looks terrific when he gets a fist on it but punching the footy is only one part of laying a good spoil. There are the other half of the times when you can't get a fist to the ball and you need to body spoil and he hasn't got that in his technique yet and has come unstuck a few times. Should always lay body on when spoiling. Especially being undersized he will not be an effective spoiler until he looks to hit opponents at the right time and the right way with his body (body spoil).

He's going to have a fantastic footy career ahead of him. He was another of the boys who were probably fast-tracked a little bit with our injury concerns, but found himself down back and had a real knack of finding the footy. He's got a cult following with that mop of hair. He's a really calm character, which serves him really well on the footy field, he's got an enormous amount of courage, is a beautiful kick of the footy and he's probably the club's best spoiler already. He's got a lot of upside.

From what we know Brisbane would accept #28 for Docherty. So we are better off doing the two trades separately.
#28 for Doc
Boots for #24.

We end up with #24 and #29 instead of #28 and #29.

Our reluctance to give them #28 makes me wonder if it's not about a particular player we have in mind for that pick, and we are worried that Brisbane may want the same man, meaning we need to pick before they do.

For argument's sake, if we were interested in Mitch Thorp at #28 and thought they were too then it matters a lot.

GWS have Mumford and, presumably, Boyd coming in. At this stage we have none and they don't seem to have many 190/191 cm as us. So with no further changes the comparison will be 16/12.
