How about we just keep him in cotton wool forever so that way he never gets injured haha.
what will it hurt? 3 games of vfl (1/2 a game, 3/4 a game, full game) at around round 6 of afl. Then week 9 off then comes in week 10 to the afl team. The three vfl games will test his knee to make sure its ready for afl and full games.

He can play the half and 3 quarter games in the NAB challenge I would have thought.

Go to 1.14 to see a glimpse of Hodge, Poppy, Shiels & Frawley.
The first part covers the sensation that is Jack Watts with bleach blonde hair.

Gee that Michael Hibberd seems pretty sharp:oops:

And I'm pretty sure Hodge ate Stewie Dew...

"It's going to be weird rocking up to preseason without someone kicking balls at people" - Sammy Mitchell seems like the kind of shitstirrer that I would love to hang around.

Don't worry we still got Hodge with his deadly left foot that loves taking aim with the footy at a few!

It just makes me laugh every time i watch this piece of footage!

Sammy and Hodge being able to take the piss made the club a good humoured positive place. Hope this keeps going with our new leaders. I reckon some clubs can become overly serious

I feel like there's some weighty judgements being thrown around...

a) I imagine most of us are nowhere near playing weight
b) I have confidence that these guys always get themselves right for Rd1!

And nothing wrong with blowing up like a tick... I live the lifestyle! :p

Video posted from today's training on Instagram (nothing much but good to see Shiels and Whitey in the track):

Funnily enough the original caption to the photo was 'Back in yellow' until a few people rightly pulled them up on it.

i see every reason. id prefer to be more cautious. What we gave up was no joke and we can't afford to see him go down early in the season. Even if his knee is good after the 4 months other parts of his body could have weakened. for me it is just too risky.
When he's ready, he'll play. If it's 4 months, it's 4 months.

Otherwise, where do you draw the line on risk? You can't let fears about re-injury affect his main purpose, otherwise, we could say that about any valuable players; we don't want to play them, in case they get injured. It's like a bus line that doesn't stop for passengers because it disrupts the timetable

Not directing this at you specifically, but it's pointless us uneducated supporters putting a time frame on when we would be comfortable with JOM returning. We're just not privy to the relevant information to make that judgement.

1st open training session for season 2017 has been announced by the club:

Saturday 10 December 08:30 - 11:00 @ Ricoh Centre

I gather on the Monday the boys head to camp in Qld..like Schoolies but different...
