The UK violence isn't getting much coverage in the Australian press so I've been slow to catch up on it.

Jeez, they're not hiding in the shadows any more are they? This is not just fringe elements we're talking about. This is racially motivated violence being stoked by conservative political and community leaders:

Yep what's happening in the UK is a reminder of what the right wing dog whistling anti-immigration rhetoric of Trump in the US and Dutton in Australia, amplified by a captured tabloid press, can lead to.

They don't need to ban such speech, but the do need to let state media like the BBC and ABC report accurately on it.

Same thing here. Dutton is inarguably a racist, Scott Morrison, John Howard and Tony Abbott are bigots yet you'd never be allowed to say that on the ABC. The problem isn't the spouting of lies, that always happens, it's the suppression of the truth.

And to top it all off we have Elon Musk, owner of one of the most used social media platforms on the planet openly saying on his twitter (I refuse to call it x) platform that civil war in the UK is 'inevitable' due to immigration pressures.

His tweet was posted in a response to a video shared on X posted by a user who attributed the chaos to mass migration and open-border policies, showed the escalating unrest in the UK. Musk's stark and irresponsible comment has sparked concern and debate about the potential consequences of the current situation.

That WAS at the end of the video. The cops thin it out, remove people, often just hold them for an hour or two or transport them away from the disturbance and release them. They often START violence instead of deescalating.
