Both were in defiance of pandemic rules but one was essentially tolerated and the other ruthlessly repressed, both under a Labor government in Victoria and also under a Coalition one in NSW.

Throughout the Western world, there are now acceptable and unacceptable disruptions; there’s tolerable and intolerable law-breaking. The former include protests against racism, colonialism and climate inaction; the latter include protests against heavy-handed government, the gender fluidity push and out-of-control immigration.

I wonder if there is anyone here who would concede that the above is an accurate reflection of the situation. My guess....probably not.

Well it’s inaccurate in that there were different pandemic rules between blm and the freedumb anti vac marchers

If you think the right are the ones protesting and the major victims of heavy handed govt/policing, you've got no idea what you're talking about.

The anti-trans protest was joined by literaly nazis and were allowed their little chat out the front of Parliament, protected by police.

It's a common thread across the world.
The less well off in society being ignored, along comes some characteristic person who rallies these people and eventually we end up where we are now.

As there are an increasingly amount of 'have nots' in the world something is going to give eventually.

I doubt these people are rioting if they were on a good wicket so to speak.

Perhaps they could actually riot against government policies instead of getting sucked in to blaming immigrants for their countries problems.

And those who perpetrate it - the people who are actually screwing the ordinary bloke out of any share in economic prosperity - don’t even try to hide what they’re really about. The last UK election was always about rejecting the Tories (like ours was about rejecting the LNP and i reckon the US election is about rejecting Trump)

Like Albanese has learned and Starmer is learning, you then to prove why you are better .

This is so touching. Prince William has explained to his kids what homeless people are, as he drives them between their own three mansions. And he knows how to fix it too. He's building 24 homes himself.

If only we had our own crown prince, rather than having to borrow one from a country on the other side of the world. Then maybe our own homelessness problems could be solved by the flick of a prince's wand.

Enormous in terms of seats but the actual Labour vote barely moved from the previous election even though everyone was sick to death of the Tories. The actual popularity of Labour was greatly overstated by the seat results.
