As of the beginning of 2018 season any rookie listed play can play in the senior team if selected.
Therefore not upgrading rookies for now will provide the club a picture of who it could be.
Willsmore will be rookied as stated due to being in contract.
Hopefully O'Rourke can get his hammies right and play some good footy.
As the following draft is meant to be deep I can understand why the club will only select the mandatory 3 picks.
Then 2 new rookie selections and Willsmore.
The team could potentially have many delistings at end of season 2018 to cater for FA and a deep draft.

That's not my recollection. We undertook two separate trades with St Kilda.

Should have just paid Willsmore out and delisted him.

Fair point you make but the club should have realised it made a mistake signing him for 2 years at the end of last year and paid him out.

He has shown nothing to suggest he is worth keeping so why clog up a spot (all be it on the rookie list) just to honour a contract that could be paid out?

We are talking about the bottom eend of the best 22, and since when did I say we would finish 18th? Do you like to make up rubbish like most other people on the internet just to better your POV?

Stop talking utter rubbish and discuss the actual topic we we posting about. I also believe we could finished anywhere between 6-10, I have said this before.

Our list is ok, it isn't top end however with a decent run injury wise we may cause some trouble come finals but we need many things to go well.

Do you honestly believe we are a premiership chance? (this will be good)

I really don't think it was to do with him being a smoker (Not saying that he was)
Clarkson wasn't happy with how he was playing and he didn't improve. It's a simple as that.

Don’t take it as gospel, only stuff that I’ve heard second hand. His dad is a flog who hassles Clarko. He has issues taking on constructive criticism by coaches and players, I think this is because he loves the taste of his own bath water and his crap doesn’t stink!
Lastly on field, the kid doesn’t have a defensive bone in his body and refused to change this issue.

You can always tell someone what they need to hear! They may have played the HFC to a tee. I was positive we were going to take Merrett in that draft, hindsight hey!

I've been over this a million times and it's getting annoying because you refuse to acknowledge anyone else's arguments. Hawthorn are in with a chance at a premiership, yes.

There's still an experienced core of players and enough young talent who have another preseason worth of improvement to nudge the top end of the ladder.

I'm not saying we're a lock for a top four spot because a lot of shit can happen in a season, but there honestly aren't many teams that are obviously better than we are; every team has sort of reshuffled and made changes but none have really improved no matter how much shit was spoken about.

Gee that five bounce run and gun against the blues from the centre to half forward to then spot up rough was brilliant by Billy.
Something stinks about this but anyway, we aren't going to be a premiership threat because of or in spite of him, just hope he gets another chance elsewhere.

Anyone seen much of Hammelmann? Looks to be a big tall contested marking forward type that Brisbane have cut.

Obviously being cut from Brisbane isn't a good sign but might be worth a look if he has potential as a rookie.
