So with the games being back to back it once again opens the possibility of giving the sub vfl minutes ala greenwood last week depending on how much they play in the afl

all the boys that f***** off to Willi probably thought they were moving on to greater things.
Nice little reminder that were not pushovers.

In fairness to those boys, the VFL program was a bit of a shit show during the time they were involved.

Tom Lynch deserves a promotion to be a line coach. Can take Blakeys role.
Convinced he's hot property and will be poached if we arent proactive.

Bloody miracle what hes done down there.

Potentially our ability to keep him, is enhanced by the success of former Clarko lieutenants in becoming senior coaches.

Hardwick, Bevo and Simmo are premiership coaches. Cameron coached nearly a decade and made a grand final, Fages has coached 150 games now and has a contending side. McRae spent his last year as an assistant under Clarko and Sam Mitchell shows promise as a coach.
The only one who's failed so far was Bolton, but he had to undertake a hard-yard rebuild at a basketcase club.
Something for him to consider anyway. But agree we should lock him away for as long as we can and guarantee that he'll progress up the ranks.

Yes and no. He's had pretty remarkable AFL-listed availability this year, plus some pretty handy senior recruits. Not sure how much credit he gets for those things, but IMO they are as critical to the success as any masterstrokes Lynch has been making in the box.

Lowson would want to find some form. He's been nowhere near it lately. Especially considering we already have enough smaller forwards in the team

One team's out is another team's in.

Butler and lienert can’t even get back in the side
It’s a shame either player isn’t playing mind you come VFL finals like to see 1 or both in as they should play before Edwards.
Mind you what’s to quantify amount of games for finals I was told 6 maybe 7 so can we get an update.
If it’s 6 could Goldstein qualify and CCJ as well? That would interesting if that happens that could spell trouble for Edwards.

The seconds/VFL and AFL sides are as close to parity as there has been in the club's history. The VFL side would be a very good chance to beat the AFL side this week.

I’m not sure about that, but it’s terrific to have a really strong seconds side. We can rightly question why Taylor and Laz are contracted til 24, but they are at worst decent AFL depth. We haven’t had this depth for a long time. Excluding Goldy, Cunners and Phillips, all of Howe, Taylor, Laz, Hall and Turner can play a role if required. Plus exciting kids developing in Bergman, Goater and Archer, plus Bonar who I still believe could be a handy defender.

Just can't remember a time when the 2nds would get within 10 goals of the seniors - obviously there's been affiliations at some stages. But this side would go close to winningg. Definitely good to have a strong VFL side but not so good on the flipside.
