From my calcs the broadcast times of quali and race are as follows:

Quali (7:30 am local time):

Brisbane: 8:30pm

Syd/Mel/Hob: 9:30pm

Adelaide: 9:00pm

Perth: 6:30pm

Race: (12:30 pm local time)

Brisbane: 1:30am Mon

Syd/Mel/Hob: 2:30am Mon

Adelaide: 2:00am Mon

Perth: 11:00pm today

Current local forecast is for light rain (1.0-1.7mm) for qualifying (7.30am) and light rain (0.7mm) for the start of the race (12.30pm) building to heavy rain (4.5mm) 90 minutes later.

Odds of a SC/VSC for the race must surely be close to 100%.

The things I can’t stand about F1 in no particular order.

Blue flags

Team orders

Sky F1 commentators (more biased than blues radio)

How a little rain forces them to hide in the garage. Ffs it’s not cricket, you have wet tyres, use them.

Sounds good!

It's not (principally) about grip.

Sadly for spectators, the aero design of modern f1 cars creates a rooster tail of water vapour that is so comprehensive that no one behind the lead driver can see a bloody thing.

It's simply not safe to go at race pace in even moderate rain any more

People here are saying it's 7.30am qualifying and 12.30pm race just so organisers have all day to keep delaying it! 5pm i believe is the cut off point

Think it will go ahead. Issue is not so much the rain but the fact there was flash flooding today

Reminds me of the infamous Adelaide Grand Grand Prix wet weather races in 1989 and 1991. The 1991 race, being (up until then) the shortest in GP history.

Interesting contrast in the drivers' reactions to McLaren team orders between Budapest and Sao Paulo.

In Budapest , Norris acted petulantly for about 20 laps refusing to give up the place while Piastri remained very measured over team radio given his maiden GP victory was at stake.

In this morning's sprint, Norris whinged about Piastri not letting him through and threatened to overtake (despite not being able to outpace him) all for the sake of a single championship point while Piastri delivered perfectly on the team orders while making a point.

Lando's a great talent but his sense of entitlement is off the charts.

Interesting they brought the race forward 90mins, must be really worried its going to get rained out.

Monday off work its a replay job in the morning anyway, that way i can skip the 3 hours of rain delays before it actually starts

The weather report I've seen suggests the heavy rain will come just as the time the race was originally scheduled to start.

Found an interesting post/thread on reddit about the starting grid if quali doesn't happen btw, which others might find to be of value:

Sir Lewis…
"You should have sent us out! This is ridiculous. I want to get out," he said whilst laughing.

"If you give is better wet tires and blankets we would be able to run on this. I'm putting you on the spot."

Why doesn’t the FIA put 12 safety cars out on track now to clear some of the water off the track? Better having them spin off accidentally than the first couple of F1 runners
