I was told last week Lynch is done deal to the Tigers and it's been 12 months in the making.

Person who told me gets some cracking mail but rarely shares, The latest info was Degoey would sign a 2/3 year deal which I posted about 2 weeks before he signed.

I said could you be wrong and he said anybody can be wrong but Lynch is a Tiger.
That’s a shame if true. Although to be honest I’m not overly disappointed, especially if the salary figures being thrown around are even close to the mark. What we really need is a gun KPB. Our forward line is actually functioning really wel as it is, would hate to throw in a million dollar plus player into it only to discover that the synergy is destroyed...

By the same token, it would amuse me endlessly if the Tiges finally got their big fish only to discover that his inclusion ruins their forward pressure based game plan.

Yeah I'm in the 'I don't believe it until I see it camp' Ed & Bucks seem coy about where Lynch will be playing next year...

I'm more shattered because they will get him for nothing, imagine getting Lynch and still having your first round pick.

Ohwell see what happens, hope i'm wrong, happy to cop a mouthful of you all if it means we get Lynch.

I mean... Yeah I think Lynch is going to Richmond but it wasn't that hard to pick De Goey would sign a deal that length as it would take him to free agency.

That's not exactly a mean feat of sleuthing/gossip-mongering.

I'm more interested in how they will manage their cap. With Dusty and Lynch that's half their cap with 2 players. And yes I know it's not actually half but you know what I mean.

What's the approximate cap with the new CBA? $12 million, up from $10 million? Spending the extra cash per year from the new agreement on just two players is incredible.

What I think will backfire for Richmond is that not every player is going to be happy taking a pay cut "for the good of the team." Riewoldt and Rance will because they were starting from such a high base anyway. But some players will undoubtedly think "hang on, I've won a Premiership (maybe two), I don't want or deserve unders."

That's not an indictment on those players at Richmond - any club would face that situation. But I feel there's going to be a decent amount of former Richmond Premiership players checking out other clubs in the next couple of years.

Nah according to Tiger supporters they will all take unders to play for the jumper.

The other thing I notice about the Tigers board is how totally illiterate and unintelligible most of their posters are.

I need a Google translator that translates "brain injured monkey smearing faeces" into English, just to read their posts. They're a "special" lot.

Don't forget the fact that the one they all look up to. The one who claims to be "in the know" re: Lynch has made numerous comments about being fisted in the anus. Good for him.

Hope it’s not the same bloke that told you JDG punched an autistic bloke out on the piss.

That’s not mail! Every man and his dog knew JDG was staying on a 2-3 year deal. Mail was unknown identity (I think) telling us Sam Mitchell to WC a month out. Lynch to Richmond isn’t mail either.

The increase up to $12m has already happened. YoY increases from now until 2022 are relatively modest. 2018 TPP is $12.59m, 2019 is $12.76 and out to 2022 is $13.54m. If Tigers get Lynch, they will have to ditch the likes of Houli, etc. Could affect their depth. Let's hope so!

I don't think that deal does take JDG to unrestricted free agency? He will only have 6 years up at end of this current contract in 2020? Unrestricted FAs need 8 years. Restricted FA is now based on being in the top 25% of the payroll, so the quantum not the term is what gets him to RFA?

If Lynch goes to Richmond he'll walk into a change room who will likely be back to back premiers. Plenty of players with 2 flags and the shared memories.

Imagine then not winning one and everyday being around guys who have and living with that post footy.

Then again he could be Kevin Durant.

don't care if Lynch ends up at the Tigers, but I'm not keen for him at the pies.
Don't think Buckley's comments really mean that much in the context of where Lynch will end up - plenty of clubs would've spoken to him I'm sure

It'll be interesting to see what Richmond do with all their spare cash if Lynch goes elsewhere, given that their whole list is supposedly taking a pay cut to get him across.

That said if we have money to be in the hunt for Lynch, if we miss out, it'll be interesting to see what we do.

lol they're in denial if they think everyone wants to stay at Richmond for less $$$$ because it makes them feel all warm and fuzzy and noble.
Have a look at the premiership winning teams of the last few years and you will understand that there will be players lost because you can't keep them all and players won't just sacrifice $$$$ because of this noble cause of "premierships".

Hawthorn- lost arguably one of the greatest every players in AFL history- Lance Franklin.

Collingwood- Sharrod Wellingham left Collingwood and was offered more money to go to WCE. Chris Dawes left to Melbourne on massive $$$$.Not even going to include Daisy Thomas or Dayne Beams or Heritier Lumumba or Heath Shaw.

Sydney- Tom Mitchell. Enough said.

WB- Joel Hamling- days fresh off a premiership. Left for Freo on a far more lucrative contract.

There will be fallout on the back of Lynch- it's natural because of the way the competition structure is designed.
Riewoldt taking a pay cut? Of what $100k?
Rance, Cotchin and Martin all taking pay cuts too?
Please, this is their livelihood.
Sure they may sacrifice $50-k100k a year each but they're not sacrificing $300k per year on their current deals to "play in premierships".
