So you don't like him. WTF has that got to do with it? Is likeability and popularity somewhere in the selection criteria?
This is a professional appointment to an important and senior position. I certainly hope that the selection has a major focus on facts and verifiable performance rather than flippant and baseless impressions.

That's it? That is the only metric you use to determine the ability of coaches?
I'm not talking about the success, I'm talking about a coaches', well, coaching abiilty.
So Eade was a failure at the Dogs even though he led a team to just outside of the grand-final despite being one of the most under-resourced, footy department-wise, teams in the competition, and an imbalanced structural team with no key forward had to lead to his tactical innovation, yet he's a poor coach because of his inability to win a flag? The logic is that because he didn't do it before, he would be a poor selection as a coach now? You can have your reservations about Eade being our next coach (I certainly do), but have it for other reasons then the incredibly simplistic and dumbed down "he failed before, so he's a poor coach. He's a failure as a coach as he's never won a flag before"

Gee, Freo must be really kicking themselves that they went out and got Ross Lyon as a coach. What a poor, poor move because he's a shocking coach because he's been a failure because he's never won a flag. If Ross Lyon wanted to coach any other team in the competition, they should pass on him because he's been an awful, horrible coach because of failure due to his lack of success due to not coaching a premiership team.

We must be hell-bent on getting Worsfold or Williams - heck, even Malcolm Blight as our coach - because they've clearly demonstrated to be the best coaches due to their success. Eade or Ross Lyon on the other hand are complete and utter horrible, awful quality coaches because of their lack of success.

FFS, Eade is our most successful coach at the Dogs since Charlie Sutton. Personally I do not want him as coach, but not for the horribly simplistic reasons above.

Also, if one more point had been kicked for St Kilda in 2010 then Ross Lyon goes from being a bad coach to a good coach? One point does not a good or bad coach make.

Picking a name out of a had, Alan Joyce was a all-time great coach instantly puts his coaching ability above every other single VFL/AFL coach who has never, ever coached a team to a flag?
I just don't comprehend that logic. There are other factors at play, the most significant being the quality of the 18/19/20/21/22 players taking the field.

If it is going to be Monty then they should just say it and not hold a interview circus and waste everyones time because that won't win us any more fans i can tell you that. Bulldog bashing will become a sport for the next few months.

He is not that bad, premier player( under Williams ), spent time with rocket and Macca, cant be that bad, give him a caretaker roll for one year. Ask the current players how they feel about him. Being ambitious doesn't make you a back stabber, some of those being put forward are no better credentialed, assistant coach of the year, sounds better than some.
