Hahaha Essendons list is so stacked they don’t need a top ten pick???

The arrogance of Essendon supporters is well known, but this is delusional.

We have a lot of needs, and that’s why the trades we did made sense. Instead of just using pick 9, we got picks 37/39,43 in a deep draft, as well as Saints F2 and Melbourne’s F1. Also we most likely would have gone into deficit next year if we used pick 9 due to our lack of picks to match Kako.

I agree with Yoda that there was no one available at pick 9 that I would prefer over the bundle of picks we ended up with.

Most people who don’t follow the draft heard ‘super draft and therefore believe every early pick is going to be a guaranteed star.

It was referred to as a ‘super draft’ due to the depth. It’s an even draft.

2023 top 10 is far superior to this year and Dyson Sharp would be the clear number 1 pick in this years draft and he isn’t drafted to next year.

We almost certainly didn't.

It's also regarded as a deep draft. Not necessarily stacked with super stars.
Except that you did.

If you were holding Pick 9 on the night you'd have been offered North's future 1st.

Then you should of held the pick until draft night and traded with North and given yourself a shot at Sharp.

We got Dees first pick though? They only finished 3 spots higher than North.

They then gave us a bunch of picks which we used to match Kako, take second round picks and used to trade into next years draft for a second rounder.

So you want to talk about all the other second rounders we got out of the trade?

Only Richmond will have access to Sharp.

This post was about as good as Sydney’s GF performance

Essendon supporters are so sensitive about this trade. Just relax, it wasn't that bad.

I think you did really well.

That’s not double dipping.

Also we’d have been unable to do all the additional trades we did.
You turned 9 into Melb F1 an F2, and two mid draft choices in a highly rated deep draft. Looks good to me. Not sure why anyone would be potting it.

Worst trade ever I'm not sure, but dumbest in the context of where west coast are at has to be pick 2 for Ginbey and Hewett in 2022.

Hewett has barely played with a bung foot and Ginbey is a solid trier HB flanker at best. Sheezel is picking up 30 and 1's for fun in one of the worst teams of all time and looks a 250 game future captain. Has shown class skills and leadership in spades. Hasn't missed to injury yet either.

That could yet be topped by this year's abomination of a decision to trade out pick 2 (Jagga Smith) for Baker Owies and pick 15 (Bo Allan)

No AFL body of work yet from Jagga so only time will tell. He's exactly what we need to complement the power and burst ability of Reid, an ultra consistent ball winner who can distribute with poise and efficiency. Instead we got a Tiger midget a Carlton nobody and a low possession ball butcher in Allan.

I'd suggest the first one is a draft ratings issue rather than a trading issue.
