Their name is crow…. NSWCROW.
Falconista here with a few words about my avian teammate who doesn't bang on about marathons.
In season 20, this plucky upstart debuted for the Sin City Swamprats and very quickly had the club's pokie lounge named in his honour. After three seasons it was time for a change and NSWCROW swapped the red, black and white for a colour scheme closer to his beloved Sturt and joined the Gumbies. Though the Gumbies are a club without a pokies lounge, it did mean NSWCROW could safely go to work without being harassed by Nick Xenephon dressed as a tool, or indeed in some kind of fancy dress or stunt outfit.
The timing of NSWCROW's move to the Gumbies wasn't great as the club entered it's darkest period. However, like his avian namesake, crow was intelligent and patient with things getting better, culminating in being a member of the season 36 premiership team. Starting on the bench, much to his displeasure, NSWCROW rapidly got on the field, hurled cats_09 out of the ruck position and played a great game. It also provided a rare occasion of a bird defeating a cat, a win for those who like to see an underdog (underbird?) triumph .
NSWCROW is an excellent teammate, who has frequently played in some of the less desirable positions on the qooty field. Scientists have found recently that crows only hold grudges for 17 years so NSWCROW's captains through the years only have to wait for the 2030s for our milestone man to overcome his many qualms with his starting positions at various points of the career.
All right, time to shut up, otherwise people will say I'm raven on and crowbarring in puns for no discernible reason.
