Deleted dating apps and in a relationship. Wasn’t expecting to move that fast but we’re old enough and dumb enough to give it a shot. Haha. See how it goes. Pretty happy!
I hate you.

/not rly, congrats

I am happy for my mate, who went to the game on Saturday. His third GF but first he witnessed a win.
3rd gen Collingwood family, at least. Grands used to live in Collingwood.

He was able to tick that off his bucket list...

Was unfortunate enough to catch a segment of channel 7 news whilst in a shop this evening.

The story was "Millennials requesting supermarkets have set hours for old people".

For true. On the actual mainstream news. They even had a reporter go to some supermarket and interview people!

But the kicker was "triggered by an online poll". So basically some wag puts up a poll on Twitter. A bunch of wags reply back with the sort of humour we see here all the time: "Too slow, talk too much, block progress, etc." And somehow that becomes "news". Even the use of "Millennials", trying to reignite the avocado wars. Elder Millennials are 40 now, the indestructability of youth a distant memory.

And if that wasn't funny enough, the bumpers for the stories after the ad break were "Smugglers are trying to flood our streets with weapons. What you need to know", "What caused the giant fireball in the sky last night" and some other fear campaign I've forgotten. It was so transparently targeting retired people with limited information sources to trigger fear Reponses in them.

The desperation was so palpable it was genuinely funny. "We're still relevant, we're still relevant - here look at this picture of a 3D printed gun! Scary, right!!! Hello? Hello?"

I predict that the nightly mainstream news at 6 will no longer exist during my lifetime. It's not only jumped the shark, but it may as well have Ted McGinley as the anchor as well at this point!

Well done!

When I met my partner at the start of last year, I said straight up that I was older and wiser and had worked out things that I'd never do in a relationship again, and was past all the bullshit so there was no need to circle around each other trying to figure out what not to say or what they'd like to hear, so lets skip the awkward irrelevant stuff and really get to know each other warts and all. Now we're spending the rest of our lives together.

She does a couple of things that shit me to tears, no doubt I do the same to her, but by god the above approach saved an awful lot of mucking around.

Edit: May not work if you're not divorced and in your 50s

I've never seen an old person in a supermarket after 9pm.

You can avoid them all you want.

Thanks! Yeah, that has been kind of a nice thing. We’ve been separated about the same amount of time. We’re a bit younger than 50s but know what we’re looking for and what to avoid so that awkward phase wasn’t really there.

Latest acquisition, signed by 9 including Pataudi, Bedi and Engineer. The Test was also notable for play happening on Christmas Day with Christmas Eve being the rest day.

I went to a West Indies training session at Adelaide oval in the 80’s and got most of that team’s autographs, Gus Logie, vic richards, Joel garner, Malcom Marshall, such an iconic team .

As fantastic as it is is now, I still miss old Adelaide Oval. There was a charm they haven't been able to recreate.
