Things that please me - Part 5

nothing ever changes
i mean small things yup sure
but people are still homeless, we still have, a now bigger drug prob. people cant afford health cover, electricity prices are stupid, crimes go under punished

they're all part of the same lodge at the top
This is the one in particular that makes me mad. Furious.

And all the other stuff too.

Ben Shapiro going on The Stephen A Smith Show.

Don't particularly like either but a conservative political commentator going on a podcast and having a normal* conversation (predominantly about the murder of George Floyd) with a sports journalist that is left leaning and comments on social issues is a green shoot for intelligent debate.

*Normal if you slow the Ben Shapiro bits to half speed.

Over the hated Lakers too, couldn't be any more satisfying !

The steal to hit lead and then the composure to hit a half-court shot. It’s blowing up media over here. Was awesome.

If Chicago had any brains, they'd be locking him in long term.

We don't though so you're probably right.

This happened the same day Doncic was traded to the Lakers - when 3 of the 4 have pulled on the purple & gold, you know the 4th will do the same in time

Think he'll look in those colours to, plus it would be nice to have an Aussie Laker to cheer for

came to post the same thing, those last ten secs be cray

His last 3 months of Hoops has been simply outstanding, definitely projecting to be an all star as early as next season.

Something has finally clicked for Josh and its just been great to see.

Bendigo's Dyson Daniels is also making a big name this season for Atlanta, definitely will make the All Defensive First Team.

Even Ben Simmons has been playing good Hoops for The LA Clippers.

So proud of our Aussie Boys in the NBA Rn.

I can tell you right now, Giddey won't sign with the Lakers (for several reasons)

Apparently OKC are keen to bring him back, I think he stays at the Bulls, him and Coby White are an fun and elite background Chicago can build around.

Also the Lakers fan reaction at the shot has already become a meme haha

lol. Who is Elizabeth? “Giddey, mate. Sydney, Melbourne, Paul Hogan”. He was all over the place. Was cool though.

My first thought was our late beloved Queen haha

Both OKC and LAL would be poor career moves. He played 18 minutes a game in last year's playoffs and 13 in the series against the Mavs. He doesn't suit playing off a ball dominant guard like SGA or Luka. I hope he stays at the Bulls. I think he would fit the Mavs if any of their players were healthy and they weren't a basketcase.

Elizabeth refers to the fictional late wife of the TV character Fred Sanford from the comedy show Sanford and Son played by the late Redd Foxx. Whenever he had some kind of excitement or bad news, he would invoke his late wife by saying, "I'm coming Elizabeth " and clutching his heart as if he was going to die, to invoke sympathy, especially from his son, Lamont.

Redd Foxx is buried in Las Vegas. My brother, who was a big fan, visited his grave a few years ago.

As long as the Bulls pay JG what he wants (which doesn't seem OTT) he will stay at the Bulls.

Chicago Trading Lavine has been the best thing to happen to The Bulls in years, not only is Josh Giddey flourishing but his back. Court running mate Coby White too (whom I have been a fan of for a while)

He seems very happy playing in Chicago and the fans and team-mates love him

Interesting to know. Sounds like an interesting show (I enjoy TV and movies from yesteryear)

I've been lucky enough to have seen Michael Jordan play about four times at the United Centre and that place can get wild. Glad to see Josh bringing back some of the excitement.

Yep it's good to see complimentary players work well together. And when the next Olympics roll around I want to see as many Aussie players playing well in their respective leagues.

I also think OKC made the right move trading Giddey away. He's not worth a max or close to max deal to them because of his skillset and their roster and it clearly hasn't hurt their performance. Having seen him flourish in Chicago it would be a shame to see him go back to where he is a bit of a square peg.
