Thread has been rolled over to Part 16 here

Cyclists that have a massive dedicated bike lane and still decide to ride 2-3 abreast into traffic so they can have a chat.
Like seriously f@#& off and die, there is a stream of hesitant and confused drivers behind you. The arrogance it takes to pull this kind of move is unfathomable, yeh it's legal but show some consideration.

I used to ride 150km+ a week but switched to running as it's much more relaxing, and I don't need to look at gross bony Lycra butts anymore which is nice.
also the ones that like riding in your blind spot when there's traffic around. i cant see you dickheads, that's on you!

People sharing the video of the guy getting eaten by a shark.

I ride quite a bit and invariably the spaghetti-armed weight weenies ruin the cyclist image for us commuters every time.
They do seem to be far worse south of the Yarra.

I must have seen a different video to everyone else. You couldn't see sh*t except red water in the one I saw.

Yeah, agreed, thats all I've seen and not sure what the fuss is.. still, I didn't go out of my way to find it to see it or want to talk about it with others

That's all I've seen too, I assume that's the one people are talking about, I don't think there is a video of the shark chomping into the guy Jaws style.

I didnt see the whole thing but i think you can see a chunk of human semi floating after the attack, or at least thats what i was told it was (and new outlets seem to back that up).

Yeah it is.. but it still aint much to see

Used to be some website where you could watch all sorts of messed up CCTV stuff (people stepping in front of trains etc) cant remember what is was called but i think we all went through a morbid phase like that.

I watched/saw a dude step in front of the express train at a Melbourne station when i was in high school (it was just post school get out time too), not something id care to see again.

Rotten.

I just spoke to a work colleague and apparently there are two videos around, he's seen both and didn't recommend I look for them.

Both are fairly similar ones just a bit closer I think.

One has some w***er showing little distress saying "Think someones been attacked." - has absolutely no fear in his voice whatsoever, or any urgency or desire to help despite knowing he couldn't (which I'd think most people would resort to)

I actually didnt really understand the outrage over that.

Youre told not to help someone drowning in the water unless your trained (the risk being they wind up drowning their saviour and then still drowning themselves). So a couple of dudes watched and didnt "sound" distressed by it.

I have no idea how id respond in a similar situation but i know i tend to be very very process driven in situations of extreme stress and ive been told that can be really helpful and that it can be really off putting. I certainly think its a little odd to film something like that happening but i also understand that its almost a default for some people nowadays.

I cant really understand what else people wanted the bystanders to do instead?

I didn't have an opinion either way but it seemed a little strange.

I think firstly I probably wouldn't have filmed it but tried to look around to see if there was someone who could help (while obviously understanding that was probably pointless) - but if for some reason I chose to film it, I'd probably be quiet maybe I dunno

100%.
I'm in St Kilda so you can imagine the nuffies I'm talking about.
I refused to ride Beach Rd, I'd much rather shoot down the Yarra trail and up to Kew and deal with the tack monster.
The eastern fwy trail is much nicer anyway, not a latte' as far as the eye can see!

I'm lucky enough to be able to choose from either the capital city trail or go down to Williamstown then Altona for any decent kms I want to do these days.
I run a gravel rig so planning on a few more rail trails this year as well - a few 2-3 day trips.
