Just driving down the main highways and freeways in Victoria is enough to stuff up anyone’s tires as they’ve been neglected for 10 years.

Although sometimes they’ll send out someone to put out warning signs and lower the speed limit around the worst patches, then leave them there for years and not fix…
Yeah.
Over heard a guy talking about the roads he reckons they use cheap stones and should be using a better stones.
heaps of other things I can't remember.
But , I think he had a point .

Yeah stop and go leave up signs all the time they so lazy .

I'll have to keep an eye 👀 on my front passenger tyre I pumped up yesterday.
I'm not surprised because I've been down some rough roads.off the beaten track.

That describes any main road in the Geelong region

Our local roads are in better condition than the main roads - a local road that is genuinely a residential street, if there's a car parked on the side of the road then only 1 car can pass at a time type thing, no major traffic and not much more than 200m long, recently got fully resurfaced and no idea why

Yet the main drags are in totally shit condition

I did traffic control for a few months a few years back - I remember chatting with an experienced driver one day and he said that a lot of the time they they do patch repairs, it's done knowing the time frame of when they'll be back out in X-years to do them again because they know the manner in which the roads are being repaired won't last

So it's essentially a circuit they work on with the patch repairs because and a repeat job they can lock in for a couple of years down the track

FFS now Control V seems to have defaulted to "paste values"
do what you do cant stop wont stop GIF

I had the front passenger down to 23 the other week, but couldn’t remember the last time I’d actually pumped them up, haven’t checked again since but hoping it’s not the tires as they’re not that old and they have plenty of tread.

But interested to know what sort of kms people get out of their tires? I’m 99% sure I’ve only replaced the tires on this car once and I got over 100k on them. But previous cars used to be about 60-70k.
I had only done 35,000km in ten years but with the problem I had with one tyre I considered it was time for a new set. I didn't want to buy just one tyre. The other tyres didn't look too bad otherwise.

Looking for cars. I don't like the process
Yeah same boat. MG looked to be good for the price then a few people told me "they're cheap for a reason", likewise Haval which look good for the price. I'm not into cars either which doesn't help.

Pickles auctions look cheap? Not that I've had a good look at that

My old VE Commodore runs fine but looks like shit. Be a cosmetic upgrade as much as anything so no rush!

I'm looking for a 4x4 as I want to do more fishing and kayaking and my sedan is useless for that.

Next 12 months looking to learn reversing trailers and to do more outdoors stuff.

I think a Navara is in my range
