Our company has shut down like many others and I am the on call person working through.

It has been an absolute nightmare. Everything is out of my purview and everything is urgent and I am a piece of shit for not being able to help anyone.

Fielding calls on my personal mobile because my boss has distributed it to every staff member in Australia who has in turn distributed it to every client they have.

I am managing multiple inboxes and I am the biggest disgrace according to everyone.

We shut down over Christmas but they leave a few staff on. Other people have also volunteered luckily. I suppose their logic is that they get two short working weeks and they save their leave for other times of the year but I would most definitely prefer to eat 5 days annual leave for 2 weeks off and not have to deal with every other campaigners problems while they are on holiday.

At Aldi a guy started reversing into me as I walked behind his car. In Aldi a woman put her shopping on the conveyor belt then went back into the shop to get some more.

My mum received a text message today from an unknown number & the sign off name isn't familiar to either of us - the person thanked my mum for the Xmas card apparently sent from her & my dad (mentioned him by name also) and asked how they were both going

This is where it gets weirder - mum hasn't sent any Xmas cards this year, and while she's had her mobile number for roughly 20 years, my dad died 30 years ago

So anyone who knows mum's number should be aware of the family situation - not sure if it's some sort of sick joke or what, but def feels off

Wrong number but right name, situation he was trying to call his daughter and her dad was dead.

Not saying that this is the reason why, but apparently scammers sometimes send out random messages just to get a response back so that the number registers as 'real' which then doesn't instantly mark it as sus with carriers when the numbers starts sending bulk messages

Thankfully mum is smart enough to not reply to unknown numbers, and as Dogs_R_Us said above the number gets blocked

For those following along, my poor 18 month old started showing symptoms this afternoon.

Woke up tonight with a fever at 39.1c and projectile vomited all over his room and mother.

I know there are worse things going on but I’m so bloody sad. Nothing worse than seeing one of your kids struggling and being able to do **** all about it.
