For those following along, my poor 18 month old started showing symptoms this afternoon.

Woke up tonight with a fever at 39.1c and projectile vomited all over his room and mother.

I know there are worse things going on but I’m so bloody sad. Nothing worse than seeing one of your kids struggling and being able to do **** all about it.

Hope the little one is better soon

Absolutely mate. Most stressful thing you can go through. Hoping for a speedy recovery

Looked at FB and I have 100 promoted posts and fan pages on my news feed and just 5 posts from friends. When did FB news feed become a cesspool of garbage. Its out of control.

Trying to engage with friends is virtually impossible.

If you don't mind, may I offer my healing thoughts/prayers for your young lad for a full and speedy recovery.

He is you and your partner's world, of course he is the most important thing in the world for you.

I just wish there was something I could actually do to help, I know we have had a few run ins in the past, but I have always liked you as a poster and I'm genuinely concerned that your newborn is in not a good way right now.

This was one of the better tips I've seen on BF, it's like a completely different page with this extension.

Had a dull ache in my abdomen all night and managed no sleep. Dunno if it's gas, a massive xmas turd or a gallstone. Not sitting 6 hours in an ER to find out.

I reckon you can rule out gallstones. When I had them, I was in so much stabbing pain I couldn't stand up. It wasn't a dull ache, more like contractions.

I reckon you can rule out gallstones. When I had them, I was in so much stabbing pain I couldn't stand up. It wasn't a dull ache, more like contractions.

When you say contractions, are we talking 30 seconds apart for hours ? I'm getting 5 seconds of a dull pain every 30 seconds. Pain is very tolerable at the moment but the aches are every 30 seconds and I'm losing my mind.

I'm really hoping it goes away, I sat in the ER for 6 hours with Pneumonia a few years back and never got seen, walked out, not keen to do it again.

There was nothing dull about it... it was a pretty violent pain. I was like writhing on the floor because I wasn't comfortable sitting, standing or lying down. The first time it happened I thought I was having a heart attack. It might be different for different people though?

Have you got an urgent or primary care unit near you? Virtual ED is also really good if you're in Victoria, not sure if they have them in other states.

There's a major hospital and a new satellite hospital. Both are notorious for long waits. 2 Super clinics are both closed. 1 is open Monday the other Thursday.

I went to hospital by ambulance, unable to move from pain across the abdomen. Tests showed nothing. It went away after about four hours. Turned out to be cramped abdominal muscle/s.
