He's won cricket World Cups so he's had more success than St Kilda, I've won rugby premierships so even I'm more successful.

Some of us successful people in other sports can afford to support an unsuccessful AFL team like St Kilda, we don't need to live vicariously through them to be successful but if the Saints win another premiership I'd still be claiming it as a personal success.
At least for the Saints, winning a premiership is your goal for this century, Essenscums unrealistic goal is to win a final.

Lined up for coffee and kid (3 or 4 years old I think) is screaming while mother and friend ignore. Mother finally complains loudly kid won't settle, one minute later orders kid an iced coffee with three sugars....

I'm starting to wonder...

Is this how one wards off depression and anxiety?

They say that depression is worrying about the past, while anxiety is worrying about the future.

Could the answer be worrying about other people, who have no impact on our lives, and who we don't know at all - but happily judging them to make ourselves better?

Maybe everything I knew about managing mental health is wrong...

One of the better management techniques of mental health is venting
I’ve spent decades bottling things up and it’s definitely not healthy

I'm the same - I still do it but I have also learnt to get it out at times

Poker is great for emotional management if you are prepared for a rollercoaster

Ive learnt a bit of fatalism helps ie the cards are already in the deck nothing I can do now

But there are still a lot of players/people who will only ever have 1 heart attack

I seen something the same.
The kid was going nuts .
Mum please be quiet .
Kid wouldn't listen.
Mum again please be quiet.
Kid going crazy.
Mum I've given up.
Carry on.

I guess wooden spoons are banned these days 🤣 .

Nah ya just discipline them enough in private so if that shit happens in public one look is enough to stop it

Ordered a new tv cabinet for the new tv I bought. The new tv is substantially larger than my current tv so I needed something sturdy to put it on.

Only half of it has been delivered…I’m stumped by this, how hard would it have been to deliver the whole thing in one go!? So now I have the back, top and bottom panels cluttering up space in my house while my new tv gets delivered tomorrow and I have to wait weeks for the rest of the tv unit to arrive 🤦‍♀️

Is that the same look your wife gives you when you get home 👀

My kids still listen to the "one...TWO..." with a stern look on my face. God help me if I ever get to 5, don't know what I'll do.

I'm going back quite a few years but if you want your kids to watch something to chill out.............."In the Night Garden".....none other narrated by Bilbo Baggins himself (Ian Holm). You will not know nor understand what the **** is going on but damn it is a sight to behold.

I remember sitting down watching it and honestly thought I'd been into Gough cigarettes.

Yep In The Night Garden and Puffin Rock were on high rotation at my place a few years back. Nickelodeon was up there with Fox Footy as my favourite channel for a period
