Really? Maybe adelaide is different. They only play classics and i never hear the same song twice in a day. Better than shit like hit107 that play the top 40 on repeat.
Nah same in Melbourne, never play the same song twice during the day, but it is the same songs every day.

Yeah that's my experience.

- Pop stations: Same 40 songs repeated every couple of hours
- Classic rock stations: No repeated songs, but the same daily playlist for all of eternity
- Triple J: Huge and constantly changing playlist, most of which is terrible

One of many reason I hate having the radio on at work.
Music streaming, fifteen bucks a month. Kiss goodbye shitty radio stations and welcome radio Caesar. Stream it through your phone too and bin the ipod.

Not getting any sleep for nearly a week, last three nights its been a barking dog. Finally cracked and went out around 4am to find dog and kicked the fence telling it to "shut up". Dog proceeds to bark louder and more frequently from then on in. Small dogs are the worst.

I have the same issue with a large dog who is left alone in a small townhouse courtyard all day. Barks incessantly whenever nobody is home (which is often). Not only is it supremely annoying but it probably meets the criteria for animal abuse.

Someone in the local area has evidently called the council on them, and I got a letterbox survey the other day asking about it. The frustrating thing is that even if I fill out the survey honestly, the only thing that will happen is the dog will be destroyed. Pretty shitty solution to a problem that starts and ends with inconsiderate owners.

Some dogs are like that whenever left alone even in a decent suburban backyard. Had a neighbour with a little mutt that would just bark and bark all day when they were out. Even stuck my head over the fence a couple of times thinking gee maybe it has hurt itself or something, but no, just barking for no bloody reason..

Went to Adelaide for work in December, loved their version of Triple M. Outstanding range of music. None of the new rubbish.

They're not really our next door neighbors and they are old (hope they're not dead, better check that) so debating whether to knock on their door or just cut some letters out of a newspaper and send them a "stop the dog barking" letter.

Crappy situation, you don't want the dog to get destroyed it's hardly its fault but all the same there's only so much you can take before it sends you mental

I love it too but we really need a station that plays modern rock like triple m melbourne. Currently there are two stations that may play a few of those songs a day but alonG with all the whimsical stuff.
i want triple m classic and triple m modern

Spot on. Triple j has become unbearable for me. Way too much electronic dance crap.
triple m classic have what i call an everyday or every few days playlist including songs like stairway to heaven, layla etc. What they need to start doing is playing the more abstract stuff.

Cant remember last time they played
voices
jenny jenny
heart of gold
Or maybe i keep missing them

back in the late 90's when I was at Uni, I worked at local supermarket doing nightfill. The boss would put on 94.5fm and they played late night love songs from 7pm each night with pretty much the same songs everynight.

As most of the crew working there were students we hated it at first but in the end it was a bit of a laugh as most ended up knowing the words to nearly every song.

What if instead of taxing unhealthy food, a person was charged a tax on just being overweight/unhealthy.

Medicare Counterweight Adjuster
$Xx.xx for ever kilo of fat above healthy range. Doctors love to keep touch on their patients so they would get to run a full physical and submit their findings, the patient gets their bill for being unhealthy.

Clearly thought this through

Then you gotta do it for smoking and drinking and then you have to work out ho to enforce it and when you go down that road it all starts to look a bit fascist.

I love this bit

"I couldn't even count the number of times my bikini top has awkwardly fallen off. A lot of people have seen my boobs, let's just say that"

Fwiw I don't have a problem with the shoot, she has a great body and is a good looking girl but it's the whole looking for fame crap that is doing my head in.

Isn't it more fascist to apply the public altering price signal to the product as opposed to the individual abusing it?
There are those who enjoy unhealthy food from time to time and will be paying for those who abuse it.

I'm only trying to generate debate on this but if an unhealthy food tax is going to be introduced I would like to discuss the option of it being individual based.

Ultimately my idea is a means of getting people talking to their doctor about their health issues before they become a health crisis for that person. The medical professional will be able to determine the level of lifestyle caused unhealthyness and apply it to a tax table, saying to their patient: "If we can get you down to X% bodyfat by the next time I see you then you save $XX.xx, here is how we can do it."

It would require a culture shift.

OK. Let me ask you some questions if you've thought this through.

Who pays for doctors to annually check 22 million people?
How many extra doctors do you think will be required to examine 22 million people?
What do you do if people refuse to pay?
How do you differentiate between being x kegs overweight due to fat and x kegs over weight due to muscle?
Do pregnant women get an allowance and if so who works out the sliding scale as they go along?
How on earth do you expect to raise enough money to offset the cost of 22 million doctor visits plus associated staff required to process claims?
Do people who refuse to make the doctor appointment get locked up?
A lot, not all but a lot, are overweight due to being time and/or $$ poor which leads to bad habits. What if they can't pay a tax in one lump sum?
