Many, many years ago an elderly distant relative who was a successful gold prospector gave me a small gold nugget. Haven't thought about it for years, but always knew I had it. Listening to the radio on the way to work on Friday and they give the gold price, something I always hear but never pay any attention to. Price of $2000 plus per ounce gets my attention though and gets me thinking might be time to sell. Forward to the weekend, go to where I think the nugget is - not there. Bit more of an extended search, still can't find it. Probably another ten years before I give it another thought.

$2,200 atm

1. How could you not know where something like that is
2. Unless you need the cash why not just keep it anyway

I'm pissed I didn't buy any gold miners on the ASX before Xmas.

Would have put it somewhere 'safe' at some stage and out of sight, out of mind. Don't need the cash but always good to have a little bit of spending money. If I keep it, it will just sit there and still be sitting there when I fall off the perch. (Got to find it first of course)
Good news is, another item of worth is confirmed where I thought it was. Will get around to selling it, both brother and sister have things a bit tougher than me at the moment, will give the proceeds to them.

Why you should get private health insurance.

Had an appointment for 1030am at the shithole Dandy hospital to see an orthopedic specialist. It’s now 1:30pm and Austin haven’t been called into the second waiting room where I’ll have to wait at least another hour.

The public system is a joke.

Literally had surgery a week ago. Saw a top surgeon within two weeks and then within another two weeks I was being operated on. Yes, am out of pocket a bit but there's no way I would have been seen to under the public system and even if I was it'd be a 3 year wait or something.

I was lucky when I needed to have a hernia operation that I knew the registrar at one of the public hospitals who was able to bump me up to the top of the waiting list, otherwise I would have had to wait months or even years as it wasn't life threatening.

Microsoft OneDrive.

My work laptop stopped working with external monitors, so a colleague suggested I sync to my company's OneDrive, and then get a new laptop. Simple, right?

No, because OneDrive moves the ****ing files from their original location to a special OneDrive folder, completely breaking any program that utilises them. The only way to restore is to copy and past literally tens of gigabytes of data back to its original location.

OneDrive may be the most worthless, useless, bullshit application ever half-arsedly deployed, ever.

They used to sell this gourmet pasta too, haven't been able to get it for about two months now.

Am genuinely shattered.
