Yes brand .....but more lifestyle association
Too me it Brand Management, Major successful company's rely on there brand, Some may associate lifestyle with the brand but that is a short term outlook. Again using Coke, Nike and Google, They are Brands that have appeal across several different lifestyles and they work to sell there brand across all age groups,
Thats where the Crows need to go and where Fagan brings in his A game and business knowledge to the fore.
Selling the Brand is were NFL, NBA and MLB teams have excelled, And Yes they do have a huge advantage they are run as a business and have people in power who understand what Brand Management is all about, What brings in the big long term sponsors, the Players or a successful Brand, Remembering player are short term,

Have you been a Brand Manager of an International Company ? ......or in a role that manages Brands? ....because it sounds like you have a little knowledge, enough to get yourself fired if you were in a Brand Management role ;)

No did a couple of semesters on the subject, wrote a good paper on it, received a high distinction, when studying for a Management degree, Also over the years been involve in several Types of positive brand role outs,
And yes I have worked successfully at an international company. Not heavily involve with sale's and Marketing more in man management.
And by the way major company's have departments design to manage there Brands, And part of there job is to role out that knowledge to there workforce, You understand make the workforce feel proud, they in turn sell the product to others, Another part is to keep the brand in front of the competitors. Control the fires, spread the goodwill etc,

Why do I find it hard to believe you achieved a high distinction on a university paper without using 'their' and 'there' in correct context?

Look at Brand Management thru history, it not so much about looking for comparison's but more at the lesson learn't,
Coke, Nike, Google are all mention in Brand Management type teachings, and have been for a few years, not as much for what they did but the lesson they highlighted on long the way, Note all 3 had different starts, All 3 had different approaches, All 3 sell a different product, But all 3 spent money time and effort selling there brand, not product but brand.
Yes there is no comparison but there are lessons to be learnt.

what lessons would be the most relevant here do you think?

I am a little concerned with the fact there was no mention of if we were planning on giving up at any stage this season.

So does that mean we MIGHT give up? Shit I hope not but the fact they just avoided mentioning it altogether.... crap I dunno.

Seems a major oversight for mine. Hope none of the opposition players see it and put two and two together because the cat is out of the bag now.
Doesn't need to be mentioned, as unlike the other team who gave up at times last year, their supporters need brainwashing again for this year... Along with now they really, really have the missing piece of the puzzle. ;)

I thought the message was pretty clear, we fly as one. Across the expanses of the state to the city to the ground. We fly as one, the supporters, the players and the club.

It's purpose was to build on what we started last year which is to get supporters to feel part of the club. If supporters feel this they are more likely to become members rather than move away from the club.

It also made me look forward to the footy starting and keen to go to a game.

I inadvertently used the word message in my post, which of course (fly as one) is readily recognisable from the commercial. What I was asking for is comment from minds that have better insight than me, ie what is the underlying purpose of the commercial. Maybe it is many things. Coupled with identity, maybe it's the old inclusiveness, belonging, strength in numbers? Maybe we are having a commercial to proclaim our existence, and because everyone else is doing it. I'm not knocking it, it's just that packages/promotions where big $'s are spent are usually produced with a core aim and expected result. And I'm not talking about borrowed synthetic viral propaganda that is pitched locally at unthinking other club believers. I'm talking about what is to be achieved from such publicity. But maybe this commercial is too subtle for me and this is the first instalment of a package developed around the murder of crows, and thus numbers and belonging, which will be extended upon with later versions to strengthen the AFC identity/image.

The technical morphing of birds into player images is fresh and visually satisfying, but like Sanders I have to say the commercial leaves me a bit unmoved.
I'm just gonna wait for version 2, but then deep in the season all I will be concerned with is the football. :D:rolleyes:

Proof reading heard of it, I got the wife to do it,
On BF who cares I generally give it a glance and let go, Modern age with PC's
Also I do have Proof

To be Brutally honest, We could quote several expressions from the Trigg era. Some that set the AFC brand backwards, They missed the boat on maturity of there intended targets us, some of there work was treated as if we were kids, It also coincided with some interest onfield results.
A very good lesson is looking at the way Coke changed the formula in 1985 after years of taste testing and approval, then after releasing "New Coke" they realised that it not the taste of Coke but was the bond consumers felt with their Coca-Cola the Brand was the selling point 99 years with the same formula. They quickly change back to Old Coke. But that lesson has used by several company's and I believe several US sporting organisations. learn what your brand is and don't mess with you Brand once established work with it expand it, And don't stop testing the market.

But looking from the Outside Fagan doing well, We Fly as One took on a new meaning, and they tastefully did not push it after the events of last year but let it build itself, And yes its building naturally,
The Add this year is getting us the supporters on-board while subliminal message is getting out. Little things are building around the ground ie the coloured bays , the careful use of the AFC in promo's, highlighting the Crows brands, were a family and we don't just stand as one we fly as one . The message is building.
But the biggest push is in the area of Multimedia getting the info out there, and the smart way of fire fighting controlling and timing the release of bad news, Cutting out the middle man (rucci)
Most of this is my own view based, As I have said I am more comfortable in Person Management sector.

I like the way we seem to be embracing the crow.

maybe because you still labour under the puzzling belief that a typo matters, and pointing it out makes you look clever?
aaaahhh Sanders... those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Perhaps this idiom should replace the strangely poignant- yet comically apt- signature that you currently use. :)

Crows are a very cool mascot. They don't have the majesty of eagles or hawks, but that's what makes them more unique. They're usually depicted as a bad omen in fantasy, they're no nonsense birds that are predators and scavengers, they're aggressive and their collective is a murder. Not too shabby.

I assume your paper wasn't marked on spelling or grammar.
Don't worry about it AV, it's an online footy forum not a spelling, punctuation and grammar test.
Sure. But whether you like it or not, being unable to express yourself with a single properly constructed sentence does have an effect on how people read your posts - particularly when trying to convey an authoritative opinion based on your education.
