Rumour Tigers accused of groping teammate

There’s nothing wrong with homosexuality. It is common in various military services especially those servicing around the world. Military bases will often have a thriving homosexual nightlife scenes operating nearby.

It’s the isolation. Could the isolation in the hubs be causing some of this behaviour? Let me be clear there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I think the issue is about consent more than the actually act (which shouldn’t be caught on film but that’s another topic).

You guys need to get your yellow and black goggles off. I love the tigers as much as you do, but I umpire in the local leagues and it’s amazing how whatever happens on TV works it’s way into junior footy. Imagine if it was your son or daughter on the receiving end. And they don’t really feel comfortable in complaining because there’s a lot of peergroup pressure and, you know, it’s just ‘standard footy club fare‘. Just like racism used to be. What I’ve seen posted on this board a couple of times now is our players engaging in indecent assault, plain and simple. It’s a horrible, horrible look.

As one who suffered a sporting lifetime of casual racism, I know you can’t complain and still fit in at the same time. You just grin and bear the ‘only joking’ mentality, especially if you’re a fringe player. Haven’t seen this done to Dusty or Cotch.

And then one day you stop and think, enough’s enough. Ask Heritier.
One good thing about this will be the spotlight on peer pressure and club culture ...it should hopefully allow an environment where parents/coaches/players can reflect on creating a better environment free from all harassment without resorting to saying that it’s typical men environment behaviour ect

Ask Mabior.

The point I was trying to make was that was the culture in the locker room when I was playing , which was backed up by the coach saying the same thing.

It’s something that should be reflected on in sporting environments ...let alone workplaces that still support these type of attitudes towards colleagues.

Just my opinion

I guess what I'm saying is that you're an exception in this regard; most males aren't overly self-conscious about showering with other males. If it was me I'd ask myself whether it's worth the discomfort to play a sport I otherwise enjoy, or perhaps whether I'm at the right club.

I also can't believe it needs to be said but if someone gestures or tells you not to touch their private parts REGARDLESS of the situation OR past situations you don't. Some of the responses on here are actually quite horrifying.
It's ridiculous that certain people need to be reminded of that.

i'd just wear jocks in the shower. not a problem with the sport, or the club. i just wouldn't get naked. that's the end of it. or it should be

I can’t see the press conference on either the club or AFL website. If that’s the case it’s probably been pulled for legal reasons. I can see police involvement here, possibly driven (quite rightly IMO) by victim’s groups on behalf of those who don’t feel comfortable in speaking up.

The ‘what goes in the change room stays in the change room’ movement are going to have a field day here, as the ranks of the outrage police are going to swell like a magnet to this one...

I missed the Chol one but noticed the one with Short a couple of weeks ago (maybe Jack whacking him in the balls?) and thought it wasn't a great look on tv. Interesting choice of journo to raise it though? Would he ordinarily be at a press conference with Dimma?

Nope. Wants a racial story and seems to be getting one.
