Serious question, do eagles fans rate Venables at all? I know his draft year he was meant to be an explosive half forward/ mid but legit haven't seen anything from him that says hes an afl player. Probably being a bit too harsh but would like to get eagles fans thoughts.

Reasonable pace, lacks a bit of touch.

Has had an injury interrupted career, but overall looks a borderline 22 in a good side.

Is a premiership player so clearly worth an early 2nd rounder :)

Read somewhere we might swap pick 22 (Sydney's) + Brendan AhChee for GC pick 19 .....anyway it's a chance .
Gold Coast don't have Pick 19, they traded it to Brisbane. I can still see them trading for Ah Chee though since it doesn't require a lot of draft capital and you'd think it'd stop his brother leaving.

Gold Coast have Brisbane’s first rounder pick - traded last year for pick 19 (Suns had Eagles first round).

The point about Suns getting the older Ah Chee for a swap of Lions first for Sydney’s second which would be a 5 or so place change worth a 3rd rounder in points. Actually makes sense. Ah Chee is knocking but Eagles midfield is fit and playing well so he is unlucky. Would his presence make Callum stay and play better? Worth asking

Yes, I'm aware. The post I responded to was clearly referring to pick 19 this year which also went to Brisbane, not pick 16. I don't see why the Suns would do such a trade anyway, Brendon isn't necessarily worth moving a pick out of the first round for, and they can simply send Richmond's 3rd to West Coast.

Suns and Eagles seem to have a decent relationship trading wise so it may be relevant. If the Suns to lose Martin or similar - they may feel they will have enough top picks so a slight move back means less for them.

Schofield wont go anywhere. He is 30, young family in Perth, close with the boys and knows his role as a backup defender. He is getting games and is good depth and a real club man. Cheap backup cover we need and use.

Plus he is kriptonite to De Goey!
Sounds like he'd identical to Jackson Trengove at port. Definitely never leaving port

Has shown flashes of brilliance but yet to pull it all together.

Seems to always have a niggle preseason and during the season to hold him back.

Still mainly potential but best 20 - 25.

I dont know what the backstory is but apparently their is a backstory in regards to Tim Kelly needing money more then Joe Bloggs from Richmond. Im curious to see what financial contract Geelong will look to give him. The reality of life is 800k in WA is 1.2 mill in Victoria isnt it with its higher property prices. So will Geelong have the room to offer that

Has zero trade value given injuries. His concussion injury this year was very very bad and it was touch and go for his career even. Has only just started returning to normalcy 2 months after the fact.

Id be surprised if he does much next year. It will very much be a catch up back to square one deal.

I agree but no one will trade for him with the concussion issues so its a moot point.

Thoughts on my hypothetical 3 way trade?
Geelong get: pick 10, 22, 44 & future first
Geelong give: kelly, pick 36 & future 2nd
Eagles get: Kelly & pick 36
Eagles give: pick 17, 22, future 2nd & 3rd
Dogs get: pick 17, 2x future 2nd & 3rd
Dogs give: pick 10, 44 & future first

Tim Kelly will be heading west at seasons end to Freo. WCE will not match offer as it is overs for what Kelly is worth.

Classic Freo paying overs for a guy who was training right under their noses.
