Time to drop Lobbe?

Hence why I've lost faith in Hinkley REH. Lobbe was/is absolutely f**kin spent and instead of moving Westhoff to Blicavs to give him a hand, he'd rather watch Lobbe burn out against 3 opponents and let Westhoff roam back and forth doing f**k all.

Lobbe drops plenty of marks so if he does get dropped then he will handle it.

As Ford said to me at half time, Lobbe not being able to take a mark anywhere around the ground is hurting us. I think we play him against Carlton and Sydney because we need Ryder to play forward or maybe even CHB, but after that then he is fair game to be dropped.

He's only taken 4 contested marks this season. How is that even possible for someone with his size.

MyLittleSloaney you mind pissing off back to your own board, I always see you liking posts after our losses, Even in the Maggies threads.

I may be at home alone on a Friday night drinking cheap plonk and angrily texting some chick who knocked me back, but I've never been that much of a loser.

He has been very poor this year. He needs to go back to the Maggies and try and get some confidence back. Absolutely pathetic performance tonight from the big guy.
Lobbe was woeful tonight.

Have concerns over Ryder being able to ruck a game by himself currently though. Fitness would likely be poor.

Really?

He was going up against 2, sometimes 3 players around the ground all night. It may not have been his best game tonight, but...

He had 52 hit outs (only 8 short of Stanley, Blicavs and Walker combined 60) and the more tackles than any other Port player tonight.

How about Hinkley running Westhoff with Blicavs and giving Lobbe a f**kin hand by letting him just concentrate on Stanley and Walker.
How much of those 52 hit outs went to Geelong players?

52 hitouts? geez you blokes are hard to please. How about droping Monfries or westhoff who only play good against bottom 8 teams.

Lobbe was far form your worst tonight.

Ryder needs to play CHF as your thats your biggest issue at the moment

So much cluelessness in this post I don't even know where to start.

See above.

Structure and our midfielders not working hard enough has a lot to do with it.
Hitting it straight down the throat of a cats player also has a lot to do with it.

A shell of himself at the moment. Stone hands.
But he's always been like that.

When we were shit we all thought he was great because he had a big tank and rucked full games by himself and helped limited the damage the opposition could do with his tackling. Nothing special, he was just a good honest trier.

Now that we have Gray, Wines, Boak and the expectations are higher it isn't good enough any more. We need him to hit the ball to our mids and be dangerous around the ground. He isn't.

Highlight of the night was when my Little iPhone That Could survived the 20 minute walk home from the tram on 1% battery as I listened to the 5AA post-game. It's two miracles away front sainthood tbh.

Anyway, during this time a caller made an excellent point that Lobbe is massively predictable n his taps. Hits it forward every single time, no deft touches straight or backwards, full steam ahead at all times. Geelong's mid read this like well... a thing that you read. The one time he hooked it over his head in the final term, I believe we had a shot on goal.

A stint in the SANFL working on directing his hit outs, and taking a mark or two, might not be a bad call.

Why didn't our midfielders work harder for front position?
Who says they didn't? It's a two way street in the midfield. Geelong players get into their positions, our players get into theirs. When Lobbe is smashing them down the throat of a stationary Geelong player, heck even straight back into the other ruckman, there is serious concerns. A ruckmans job is to hit it to their teammates. He didn't do it very often.

If most of those hitouts didn't end up in the laps of the Geelong ruck division, I think you'd find people would be less unhappy with him.

As much as his inability to mark hurt us, he is not at the front of the line to get dropped. SGray, Stewart and Young were all passengers and with White out and Ryder and Krakouer (what a mistake sending him back to the rookie list) unavailable, he will get another chance.

He was absolutely woeful. Who cares if he got 52 taps. He offers nothing in the forward line. Can't take a contested mark and was bloody awful when hebwentbdown back. At least 2 turnover goals.

Can someone please confirm or deny Trengove refusing to play ruck this year and for the rest of his career? That's my biggest concern regarding our rucks.

But in the spirit of this thread, Lobbe is adding less than the dinosaur ruckman of yesteryear.

That was just about the worst performance i have ever seen by a ruckmen. He won 52 hitouts, but at least half them went directly to geelong players, a quarter went into despite, and the other quarter he tapped DIRECTLY TO THE OTHER RUCKMAN.

He cannot exert any influence around the ground because he is so slow and cannot take a mark to save his life.

paddy straight back in as lead ruck, drop Lobbe for the foreseeable future, I have had a gut full of him.
