Play Nice Tippett Nominates Sydney - Part II

Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like a case of draft tampering to me. Sydney have not broken any rules but Tippett and his manager need to be scrutinised by the AFL.

Not sure it can be classed as draft tampering as Tippet is seeking a trade at this point in time. As is White. Tippet has not reached the draft stage as yet. If some goes wrong at that stage then you might be able to allege tampering.

Only that Kurt and his management are being as difficult to deal with as possible.

maybe? as i said I agree the deal is not equal, I just do not agree with the idea some have that sydney are being unfair, they have every right to make an offer, the onus is on Adelaide to say F Off.

Seriously?

Why did the AFL get involved with Burgoyne?

Your analogy above; when the kid snots you, and you aren't allowed to retaliate, what the **** are you meant to do?

We should be dealing with GWS, GC and Brisbane, and telling you to get stuffed - but, for some reason, Tippett is allowed to hold us over a barrel.

That's why we should get the AFL involved; because we have a player who isn't a Free Agent, behaving like one.

You guys are rightly stoked, you're getting an absolute steal - which, in this 'equitable' competition, isn't meant to happen.

I do understand where you are coming from, but once out of contract everyone has the right to veto trades, it is essentially free agency, I know this case sucks for the crows but I would hate to see a system where Tippett is at the whim of the Crows and traded anywhere. I think you can argue he and his manager are basically giving the crows the finger, but I am not sure under what law you want the AFL to get involved.

The trouble is also that apart from the fact there is no confirmed deal (you may get an awesome deal still it is just speculation) we do not know what goes on behind closed doors, for all we know there is some agreement between the two clubs in place to get this deal done or the crows told tippett they would take any offer to get him out or someone has photos of Claude Crow or stuff knows.

Can the Sydeny fans who keep claiming the AFC have themselves to blame for the situation they're in as they 'mis-managed' Tippett please expand and provide evidence how he was mis-managed? From what I can see the club could not have treated him any better and they did a heck of a lot more for Tippett than he has returned to the club.
Do you mean the sudden wave of so called Swans fans?

Sydney are trying to bend over the Crows no matter how you dice it.

Vlad will be starting to get restless.

Nope I watch about 5-6 games a weekend. Pyke is, as u say, serviceable so dont spout on about White being a decent player when you full well know hes an absolute joke. You guys have tried to trade him before from memory...obviously he isnt rated. Oh well, one SANFL club is going to be pleased.
I've watched a lot of reserves this year and White has been forced to play a lone hand in the ruck. It has really improved his game. One of his challenges of his 5 years at the Swans has been the rules changes that have effected his position. He's been in and out of the team and in a different position each week. Sometimes ruck, sometimes forward, sometimes both. This year he's settled into the ruck as Seaby spent most of the year injured and Pyke came in to cover Mumford after the injection infection. Jessie has only had a young skinny toppie helping and the quality of ruck against GWS, Lions and Suns along with the Tigers has provided some good opposition.
I think you will be surprised at how accomplished he has become. His fitness is outstanding. Remember his ruck coach, Steve Taubert, turned Jolly into a dual premiership player, converted a Canadian Rugby convert into a very handy ruck man who carried our ruck and took the Swans to a premiership, took Mumfords game to a new level and devised the strategy to neutralise the best ruck duo of Cox and Nic Nat which saw the Swans dominate at Subi in 2012 and be the only side to beat WestCoast at home twice in consecutive season.
He's been very well trained.

Once you flogs stop deflecting I will stop posting.

FFS there was a Swans Flog on here a while ago that has been on BF for 7 years and has barely posted in that time yet he has been feverishly posting away for a couple of weeks now.

Why do you think that is?

4 goals for the match; 2 in the second half, including the first in the fourth to keep us in it is hardly "going missing when the game is on the line". That's okay though, keep making stuff up if you like.

You think giving up a premiership player is unpalatable? Just because they've played in a premiership winning side doesn't make them any better, or any more valuable. Just FYI, if Tippett ends up going to Sydney, he'll probably be the highest paid player at your club. Ergo, Sydney values him more highly than any of your current "premiership players". With that in mind, I don't think giving up quality to get quality is too much to ask.

On my "rather get nothing position", trading Tippett so Sydney strengthens Sydney, a direct competitor for the flag next year. If the Crows get anything other than a best 22 player in the trade, then we're instantly weaker because of it. We've gone backwards. Yes, I would rather we took our chances of him going to GWS in the PSD, than trading him to Sydney for a half eaten sandwich.

But why U MAD?

Clearly you missed the sudden influx of Hawks supporters following the 'Bradbury Flag'

You are naught more than your average, garden variety troll and not even a very god one at that.
Had the GF result been reversed* you would have had a real definition of the term "flog".

* Not gonna happen with your bunch of cream puffs.

The Crows should refuse to call ask for arbitration, as the Swans aren't offering anything close to Tippett's value.

Tippett is within his rights to go to the Swans, but Sydney should give something close to his value - otherwise Adelaide are better off letting him go to GWS.

For what exactly ?

Crimson you're of course correct, it couldn't possibly be draft tampering yet.

But I do feel Tippett is really pushing the rules. It is pretty widely accepted that if he did get sent to the PSD he would still end up at Sydeny as his management has made it pretty clear he has no interest in going to any other club. I don't see this as being too different to guys like Pyman/McKay/Chambers who wrote to clubs telling them not to draft them. They were sanctioned by the AFL.

Sydney have nothing to lose, good luck to them. In theory they could offer their final pick in the draft to Adelaide but it's only common decency and good PR that prevents this. They are only doing what most, if not all clubs would do if faced the same situation. Tippett on the other hand is behaving like a petulant child who seems to think he's a free agent. I wonder if would spare $80 of his fortune to refund my little nephew who saved his birthday money to buy a Crows jumper with his number on it?

I know we're not the first club this has happened to and, unless the AFL tighten the rules, won't be the last.

Nah he's not repeating the same crap, he's got 2 personalities to deal with. Pretty hard to make any sense when you are dealing with 2 idiots instead of one.
