Toby Greene was the only one sent to the Tribunal. I don’t think the AFL allows precedents.

That's not what we're discussing. We are talking about separate incidents in the same game. They are not precedents. They may explain why a player lost his temper but they are never used in the tribunal as excuses. I would have thought that was clear from the discussion.

The precedents are for the incident which occurred which wasn’t “separate incidents”. There were multiple offences in the same incident. If by “excuse” you actually mean “partial excuse” as an argument to lessen a penalty then you’d be wrong. Why would Nic Nat get away with such a pitiful $1k fine for slamming Merrett into the fence if they didn’t take into account the hair-pulling that instigated it?

I would also say he had the last laugh getting the win.
Greene getting off, rightly, was the icing on the cake.
