We are not discussing other incidents. We are discussing the Toby Greene incident. Look at the rules on posting. They relate to staying on topic. I'm discussing the topic. You are not. If you cannot understand such simple principles, you must still be at school.
Why on earth would it be off-topic to talk about other incidents when discussing any incident? It’s the best way to get any perspective.
Other incidents cannot be used as defense. Hence they are irrelevant. I would have thought that was obvious.
Except no to all of that. They can be used as a defence and they are relevant. It’s bizarre that you think the opposite.
Give me one example where a prior incident has been effective in explaining why a reportable incident occurred and then successfully got the player off. Just one in the history of the AFL.
Every single case is assessed against the backdrop of the whole history of other cases and their outcomes which set out precedents. It’s supposed to give the system some consistency which comes second only to the AFL changing how they rate certain kinds of incidents sometimes for the better and sometimes not.
That's not what we're discussing. We are talking about separate incidents in the same game. They are not precedents. They may explain why a player lost his temper but they are never used in the tribunal as excuses. I would have thought that was clear from the discussion.
