Which trades would be worth more in terms of draft points? Tim Kelly the only one I can think of.

Your threshold was pick #3.

Judd and #46 was traded for #3, #20
Lachie Weller and #41 traded for pick #2
Tim Kelly
Luke Jackson
Dylan Shiel
Adam Treloar (the first trade) (#7, #7)
Dayne Beams to Brisbane (#5, #25, Crisp)
Arguably Tom Boyd if the Dogs captain at the time plus pick #6 is of value

Just off the top of my head

I’m pointing out stats. You don’t need to talk him up to me. He’s very good. He’s just not worth pick 1-3 good which is what some Eagles posters are valuing him at based on draft picks.
Pick 12 + a future 2nd is basically pick 10, not pick 3 .

Why people think a pick in the 30s holds so much value is weird

Um Judd also landed J Kennedy.

The Eagles greatest ever goal scorer.

He is on 800k a year atm
On this number where has it come from, wasn't it mentioned that he didn't have Increases built into his contract, so if he signed it back in 2021/22 it's more likely to be around the 650/700k mark rather than 800k. Just a guess of course but that was around the mark FA were getting in that period and usually your guys resign for slightly under that market rate not more.

Is the 800k the renegotiated contract WC have tabled recently?

So you wouldn’t trade two late firsts if it meant instantly improving your list with an AA calibre player in the position you need most?

Decent chance at least one of those picks doesn’t make it to 200 games.
No I wouldn’t trade them for for an almost 30 year old who has never been an AA when he doesn’t guarantee us anything.

So much posturing, I love it.

I personally wouldn’t. 1 1st, yep. Barrass has played an average of 17 games a season across last five years and I wouldn’t expect that number to increase over next 5. If we could get 80 out of him, I’d be happy. But it’s not worth 2 1sts.
Alternatively though, if you were currently sitting 11th or 12th and it was pick 6 or 7 straight swap what would your thoughts be?

You shouldn't be paying nearly a million bucks a year for him either then, not for four years.
We have a ridiculous amount of cap space, we can front load a deal that will be on a very reasonable wage on the back end. We have cap space so it is not a valuable asset to use, picks are. It’s a clear difference.

Hawks fans.....is there any reason DGB isn't being talked about as being part o the trade?

Is he good enough to be part of HWC's future and therefore worth too much to put on the table?
Is he that bad that he adds nothing to a trade?
Is he now a fwd and WC don't need tall fwd's?
He’s just shown nothing, so if West Coast want him he would be steak knives. He has very little currency unfortunately.

See this is what worries me young teams in recent times have pulled back the 2nd year after an initial run and then bounced again the following year after that. It happened to Freo, Sydney and Adelaide this year (yet to see the bounce back up).

Hawthorn would be going against the grain if they were to avoid it.

If Barrass cost our F1st in any scenario we should pull out. It's too risky at this stage.

Hawk's first pick and F2 seems fair to me. Barrass is 29 so not exactly a spring chicken. Hawks could easily regress too with some key injuries so it could be anywhere from 20-30 which has value.

I'm doing the deal if I'm WC as he is the only player worth anything that you want to get rid of and this is the draft to hit big time. Look at Liam Ryan, he'd be worth a fraction of what you could have got a few years ago now, I wouldn't be letting that happen to Barrass.

So potentially able to buy a first round pick with salary cap space? If that function is ticked off by the AFL.
