Quite possibly, he's contract WC can set the price. If they are not eager to deal the price will be high, possibly so high that there isn't a market for him. So he stays.

If this thread discussion is anything to go off, they are miles off each other.
Everyone at this stage is just assuming we are interested in all honesty

A fair chance we are just not, especially if Harry Edwards moves on instead. We know 2 clubs chasing him and offered 4 year deals. We may just decide to part with Edwards for a pick in the 30s and stick with Barass

Not sure why people keep bringing up AA Selection like it means anything. It's a popularity contest that has very little reflection on players performances, particularly if you're not a midfielder.

Matt Priddis was good enough to be named the Fairest and Best player for the season but not good enough to be named in the All Australian side.

All Australian is just a battle to see how many midfielders they can squeeze into one 22.

Duffield suggesting that Eagles not that interested in trading him. May very well be a Elliot Yeo situation to be fair that we shouldnt rule out. Barass just using Hawthorn to get the contract he wants like Yeo did Adelaide

Industry sources believe it would take two first-round picks to turn West Coast’s heads – and even that may not get it done given the expected trajectory of Sam Mitchell’s young team

Agreed. On par with NBA all star appearances being used as some sort of measurement for how good a player is despite it literally being a popularity vote.

Using AA selections to compare players is shit analysis and exactly why they keep picking the same names regardless of performance.

Exactly, people in here saying 'he's never even made the AA side' like he wasn't a key pillar of a Premiership, something most players will only ever dream of.

Mentioned this earlier the leaks are the confusing part, where are they coming from. Normally this type of stuff would happen in back rooms between clubs like ours. Alot stuff never sees the light of day.

Two first rounders would probably see us have to send a second rounder back, likely F2. Maybe a lower round pick swap as well. I agree that we should be looking at two firsts. Whoever gets him is going to be in a pretty good spot already.

Exactly what it will be, and dream on West Coast, if you think McKenzie or Ward will be included. Two future stars and under 20 years old and top ten picks.
I don’t think anyone seriously expects a player in return.

It will be your first, and a second pick that the clubs will barter for. West Coast will want a future 1st. You’ll probably offer your future 2nd, they’ll meet somewhere in the middle.

Keeping in mind with every game you win, your picks decrease in value.

28 year old that has never played a full season, two first round picks.

Jack Henry is 25 years old and was a key pillar in a premiership (CHB), Hawks can have him for one first round pick.

That could end up being pick 14 this year and swap of pick 16-18 for pick 19-21.
Could end up with us getting huge unders

We'd obviously ask for more or trade lesser picks if that were the case

I mean the future picks could leave us with unders.
If we are bottom 2-3 and they are top 2-3 itll be only a small uprgrade on that future pick in addition to a pick probably in the teens this year.

So what do you want for Barrass?

Personally I think he's worth about Pick 8-12 or so and if that's the range it will be a straight swap.

Like someone said earlier maybe steak knives too

The fact it's already come out suggests there is some deal already in place possibly

I don't see how we trade 2 first rounders even if it is a future one. That's that is the only options I'd rather stick with what we have
