I also explained to you what the intent of the phrase 'playing against grown men' was. It was clearly obvious to everyone except you. Its an idiom.

No buddy. It was said specifically about his performance against opponents from the game last weekend. Nothing general or idiomatic about it. And all I did was point out his opponents from that game were kids themselves. Nothing more. Who knew it would cause one or two Dees posters to blow a fuse.

It seems ytou have some kind of general disorder where you are way too literal with the language. You probably have poor social skills too.

The irony, of which you're unaware, is that these comments reflect upon the inner workings of your mind.

Nothing to do with me.

Just because its in relation to his opponents from last weekend, doesn't mean it can't be an idiom.

It seems everyone else took it that way except you.

Its just my assessment of the type of person who reacts to that comment the way you did.

Anyway back on topic, can anyone name a 200cm gun kp forward? In the history of the AFL?

I really can't think of any. My opinion is that players that tall don't generally become awesome key forwards. Most of the true greats are around 190-195cm, historically at least.

Salmon?

Players are getting taller these days anyway.

Yeah, but there are limits to athleticism when it comes to height. Shorter people have better balance, core strength, lower centre of gravity etc. and once you hit certain heights you just compete with smaller guys.

Original Comment - "Hogan 6 goals, 20 odd possessions despite being double teamed by grown men"

Your misinterpretation here is not my problem.

My Reply - "Since when were Matthew Watson and Andy McInnes grown men?"

Really? You've assumed mental and social dysfunction on that simple little comment? On BigFooty? o_O

Joe Daniher will be the next one. Absolute freak show.

i just hope that when Hogan comes in next year that Melbourne fans dont start ridiculing him when he comes in and doesnt have much of an impact like they have done with jack watts.

Hopefully they realise that it will take him some time to develop and come on

You'd think people would learn.

I've heard some supporters claim (seriously) he will kick 60 next year

Takes almost every ounce of my mental strength to not tear them a new one.

You only have to look at David Swallow to see that even kids who dominate lower competitions (4th in the Liston in 2010) can lose confidence and take time at AFL level.

It wasn't Melbourne fans that started with the ridicule, it was the football media and inane opposition supporters. The majority of Melbourne supporters (or at least the rational, dedicated ones) stuck by him because we could see that his talent was obvious.

I'd say it's about half/half.

I can't wait to see both these guys play - it isn't without possibility that they may play together next year, although I would prefer the doggies to get their power forward and the Dees to take a mid.

Also, is there a mod around here going to pull up Monkey King for bickering again? He's posted 20 of the lamest contributions I've ever seen in this thread.

Giants will pick Boyd with pick 1, unless they receive an unbelievable offer. No problem fitting Boyd into the team along with Cameron, Patton & Franklin. One of them will play CHB.

I believe Carlisle was a forward when recruited and is the likely All Australian CHB this year.

The more I think about it the more obvious the selection. Boyd to the giants with pick one.

Is Tom Boyd a ready made player or will he take some time to bulk up?
He is very strong already and weighing in at around 102kg. Like Jesse Hogan, is probably more physically ready to play right now than Joe Daniher is, despite the fact that Daniher has an AFL preseason under his belt and is that year older.
