more to come........
Just read this on the Hun. Congratulations to Tom on his career, being the captain that brought us out of the doldrums to be a dual premiership winning club. His leadership I believe was integral to the rise of Geelong, especially in terms of improving the off-field discipline of some of our errant stars. Ultimately injuries and general wear and tear wrecked his career on an individual level and meant that he could no longer be our CHB, but he has a long and illustrious career ahead of him in management/media. All the best Tommy, you will be missed!
BDP - i just got back from Europe - is he definitely retired? or is this SEN Ratings puller rumour millI flipping love you Tom Harley....thank you so much for what you gave our great club !!!!!!
sportSENtral said:A failing body has prompted Geelong captain Tom Harley to announce his retirement from AFL football after 198 games - and two premierships. Seated alongside coach Mark Thompson and flanked by the 2007 and 2009 AFL premiership cups, the 31-year-old told a media conference at Skilled Stadium on Thursday that he was immensely proud of his decade-long contribution to the Cats. "I physically can't meet the requirements to play, to see out a season, a full season in the AFL," said Harley.
