Martin Luther King wanted people to be judged on the content of their character, in his eyes Tom Harley would be held in high esteem.

I think the kudos he receives from the opposition and their supporters speaks volumes for the man. His legacy will be the on and off field professionalism he has helped instill into the future leaders of the club. Toms presence will be felt long after he has left.

These two pictures sum up Tom Harley perfectly. In his moment of glory (leading his club to premierships) he stand at the back and lets his chargers also share in the moment.

Compare this to previous years.

It's hard to find pictures going back, but its hard to believe many captains would take such a back seat.

Congrats on a great career Tom. Here is someone who commands respect from others, as manifested by his actions on and off the field and the articulate way in which he communicates with others.

He has every right to leave the club as a contented man, given what has has helped us to achieve in the last 3 years.
