Will not be happy if Hawkins ends up playing for someone else.

It's getting done
Story seems a big beat up
I would be angry with the club, not Hawk.I know I am in the minority here, but if he and the club can't come to terms and he leaves, I would be sad but not angry.
He would be going to get more money for his family in the twilight of his career, and the club is making the hard decision to let a older player (who did have injury concerns last season) leave and to give younger guys a go.
Saying all that, I do think that he and the club will work things out and he will stay.
Much ado about nothing.
Why would it have better? It impacted nothing, probably changed nothing and likely made no difference to anything at all. The people that knew would have been fully aware of where it was at, and all he mentioned was that he was irritated that it had taken so long which is perfectly fine. The 'ado' was stirred up by no-one else but Tommy himself, when he chose to throw it out into the public arena.
Will likely never know his motivation for doing that, but it would've been better if it were kept in-house.
Anyway, it's done, and the best part is Tommy stays a one club player.

Just because a bunch of nuffs obsessed over it online for a couple of days doesn't actually change anything to do with it
I disagree, if a long time highly respected player like Hawk feels the process has dragged on and is shitty at it he has every right to shake the tree a bit to get it moving. He was never actually going to play elsewhere, he's entitled to be dirty if it took too long given how many deals he has likely taken unders on and when all other deals seem to be done.As you said, it likely changed nothing, so was there a need to throw it out into the public arena?
Seems not. It invited commentary unnecessarily.
Just my opinion that it would've been better / more respectful to keep it in-house.

And it may even have been sorted in between the time he spoke with Jenkins and Jenkins went to air.
Who would we put on hawk if he played against us?
I would put Jake Kolojadhnij,Who would we put on hawk if he played against us?
Sorry, I got fooled by a fake account. Disregard that X post. LOL.2 years. Will go past Selwood for most games played and if he keeps tracking at 60 goals a season could finish his career with 900 goals. this bloke is an absolute champion of the club and is not insignificant but maybe underrated!!!!
22 form he would have done ok.De Koning, obviously.
8 games shy of Selwood's games record, it honestly blows my mind that Hawkins will likely be our games record holder! I remember him really shitting me in that 07-11 period and I thought once we lost some of the other better forwards he'd be exposed and go the way of the dodo
