Exceptional**

I wasn't sure if you were going for inspirational or exceptional.

Well played Tommy, made me have a re-think ... :thumbsu:

And then there are blokes such as Tom Logan, Ryan Crowley, Paul Puopolo and Nick Duigan.

They are superstars in a novel way.

They are superstars at giving their all.

Logan personified Port Adelaide on Saturday night.

Port's mission statement for this season was "never give up". It is also Logan's philosophy.

What other way can you describe a footballer who has signed one-year deals in each of his past seven seasons?

He is the quintessential junkyard dog.

Against the Pies, Logan took Jamie Elliott and Jarryd Blair and Alan Didak late, and did not concede a goal.

Skills go out the window in finals. Perfect for Logan. Was in our top 3

Watching Logan play live, I think his kicking action at least is very neat. Not to say his skill is great, but it looks to do the job.

I agree completely with what you're saying, blue collar players just get it done in finals.
Logan, Wines, Cassisi for us..
Sewell for the Hawks (was a Malceski goal away from a Norm Smith :p),
Kennedy for the Swans.
Duigan for the Blues.
Vlastuin for the Tigers. (Foley should have played)
Barlow for Freo.

That's rubbish. So Collingwood continually kicking the ball back to us wasn't a big factor in us winning? Of course it was our pressure and defensive set ups that caused many of the turnovers, but it was not only our bravery and toughness on the night that got us over the line, I thought we cut them open with some brilliant kicking and fast link up play.

I also thought that Logan's skills were excellent - did people not see his great spot up kick back into the corridor? Honestly can't remember a poor kick from Tom during the game.

Sorry, I was a bit over aggressive answering this, but skills are a bloody critical component of any football match and are still just as important in finals.

My point was that finals football is more of a tough slog, rather than a quick free flowing match. Which suits the slower Logan.

I wasn't implying the skillful players such as pendlebury, wingard and Simon black are useless finals players.

Fair enough.

I do think that Logan's skills by foot have improved quite a bit - I do remember some howlers from a few years back including a 20m set shot that could have iced a game against Carlton during that period where we seemed to find a way to lose from any position. He had a pretty good overall game in the Prison Bar match - did have a couple of facepalm moments dropping marks and such, but on the whole I didn't have a problem with his skills.

Well done Tommy. Was absolutely copping it here from all angles, and has been all year, and its been undeserved. He gives his all for this football club, he's the kind of person we needed more of around our football club in previous years, and I think exemplifies the type of person our club is now built on.

The BigFooty collective needs to start bagging out someone new, so that they can rise in glory next week. Pittard's turn?

Pittard played a great game on Saturday night.

Yeah, true enough. Who else has the BigFooty collective been bagging out recently that can produce a career best performance? There must be someone. Hitchcock in and kicks 10?

I'd been on the Tommy Logan train all year but to my shame jumped off last week and said we should have gone with Neade.

Tom, I'll never doubt you again :hearts:

Made me feel bad for considering him for delist next year.
Many good games with us but IMO the delist/trade is still the way to go. I'd say trade him to a team like Gold Coast or GWS that needs that sort of player more than we do. We need picks or upcoming young talent. And yes he was a chaos ball as far as Collingwood was concerned.
