Recommitted Tom Mitchell [contracted and staying at Hawthorn]

If he were to be traded, what would Hawthorn get in return?

  • Two good 1st round picks

  • Top 10 pick and change

  • A 1st & a 2nd

  • Later 1st round pick

  • Two 2nd rounders

  • Early 2nd rounder

  • Other 2nd round pick

  • Less than a 2nd rounder

Richmond to me would be the only team it makes sense from the capital perspective and fitting in as a player of need
Agree with Richmond, would really help push them back into contention next year.

I also think St Kilda makes sense. They have targeted ready made players the last few seasons to contend and imo they should continue with that strategy. Tom Mitchell would be their biggest scalp and give the 2 A Grade mids (Steele, Mitchell) which all the contenders have. I know a lot of people think they should turn to the draft, to me that’s them conceding their recruiting strategy the past few years has failed and in my opinion they should continue to build to compete now.

What do you think would get it done?
I'd like to see Mitchell at the Tigers next year.

Pick 7. One of our early picks in the 20's going back.

I don't think a pick in the teens will cut it if we are looking to really rejuvenate our list with fresh top end talent.

It has to include a first somewhere minimum. We already have two early early 20 picks

I think that is reasonable. Would you consider it fair for 15 + the Nth future 2nd for Mitchell + $250k of his salary covered for the next two years?

I think with the different positions the two teams are in (despite drawing in the last game lol) we need to strike whilst the iron is hot, so I think a future 2nd rounder for 500k of salary cap relief works for both clubs and 15 is appropriate for Mitchell at the stage he is.

i think if we wanted Hawks to pay some his salary we'd have to cough up #7. Gotta be realistic.

North's future 2nd is likely to be around 19-24.

Hawks would jump at 15 + North's future 2nd as I'd say that's significant overs.

Yeah I think 15 and an early second is a solid return, I would be open to it but I know a lot of Hawks fans don’t feel the same as I do.

I could see St Kilda pushing top 4 next year if things go well

Realistically, I think Richmond would want to give 15 and maybe 28.

Hawthorn would pay a chunk of salary and ask for 7.

I genuinely think he'd help put you straight back into premiership consideration, so it makes sense for Tigers.

Really ? I think Mitchell is cooked personally.
