If he were to be traded, what would Hawthorn get in return?

  • Two good 1st round picks

  • Top 10 pick and change

  • A 1st & a 2nd

  • Later 1st round pick

  • Two 2nd rounders

  • Early 2nd rounder

  • Other 2nd round pick

  • Less than a 2nd rounder

Really ? I think Mitchell is cooked personally.
AA squad of 40, B&F, 7th in the Brownlow.

His start to the year nothing great but post bye he was legitimately terrific.

If you think that is cooked i dunno what to say

Idk sounds like hawthorn having a fire sale after clarkos selfish failed 'rebuild'
It wasn't all Clarkos fault. Various player managers might have been suggesting cognilio, tom lynch, Whitfield were coming as free agents.
I don't understand how the he'll they payed so so much for o'meara, wingard though. Maybe that was Clarkson fault.

Ironic username

3 x 1st for Cameron...

I hope there is no way that Mitchell gets traded. He is a brilliant player. If he does get traded it has to be a top 10 pick. It’s just not worth it otherwise
I think you just stated the reason he wont be traded.
No one will pay that.

I think they paid so much for Jaeger because they thought that they’d get Coniglio and Lynch for free, and that it would all balance itself out. Clarkson had a lot of control over list decisions, and too much faith in the old guard. Another reason Clarkson is no longer there.

bottom line is, he is 28,
28 year old midfielders dont command a 1st round picks. eg see crows stuff up with gibbs
hawks want a first round pick but wont get it
still a very very good footballer you would take as a FA in a heartbeat, but not trade your future away for

Gibbs and Beams were traded for TWO first round picks. I can see why clubs would hesitate to do that again. But one first rounder to enhance a premiership window? It's a no-brainer. Smart clubs would pull the trigger.

Agreed you don't sell the farm to get him but an astute buyer with a premiership window peeking list could certainly enhance their chances at glory, much more so than an 18 year old pick 5-10 will do.

Its got to be a top 10 pick or otherwise we hold onto a great player. Picks, as they have always been, are overvalued.

TIL Tom Mitchell averaged 22.9 uncontested possessions a game. I have the following questions:

1. How?
2. Why?
3. How can a coach take away half of them and give them to someone else?

Scooting out the back is great if you're Zach Merrett, handy enough if you're Jack Macrae but I can't really see why you want Tom Mitchell getting that much of the ball.

I hope he stays and if we have CJ, Bramble and Will Day running through middle, Tom will win Brownlow next year

Mitchell is a workhorse. He spreads so damn well and just finds the ball at will.
