Ball was huge, but Jolly was a bigger key to 2010. Pretty funny though that back in 2009 we’d chop our nuts off for a ruckman of Grundy’s quality

We had a dry spell of having a decent first ruck. That’s why we rejoiced in Grundy. He then dominated and we expected that level every game. If he was below his best he was still in the top few rucks in the game.
If he gets back to fitness he will be a huge, and relatively cheap, get for Melbourne. Plus he will allow Gawn more time forward which would be hell for opposition teams.

Geelong has a few more than 1 if you’re being fair. Danger might not be what he was but he lit it up in the finals. Hawkins is undoubtedly. He is one of the least selfish forwards you’ll find. He has a great goal to goal assist ratio. Cameron, well he’s prob the one you were mentioning.

And Tom Stewart is pretty much the best defender in the game...

I really dont get the love for Stewart. He never plays on a man. The system makes him. Hes good but if i had a choice between him, Moore, May, Grimes or Sicily, hed be the 1st discarded

He does get freed up but he can play on a man too. I think he's the best all round defender and Moore and May are second and third.

Yeah. Cats stack their defence. Hawkins is such a dangerous forward ruck that they drop Blicsavs and Stanley back to help lock the ball in. Hawkins is their most important player, because hes not only a great target, but he alsogives them an extra defender and teams just can't transition. It makes their defenders look better than they are. Show me an AA defender and I'll show you an awesome defensive system.

Yes and he's always got maggots ignoring the double fisted shoves he gives opposition backmen.

Who cares about The King Charles coronation

The big ceremony will be the official hand over of the “steak knives” from Crispy to Mitchell

😂 ummmmm,
C4E that looks like something you made by hand and should be hiding from the screws.
On a brighter note you must have good 4g down there in Barwon.
p.s. Could you please pay Ollie a social visit when you get parole (asking for a friend)

So do we consider Mitchell as " steak knives " in the Henry deal ?
Yeah pretty much. In essence we got him for 41 & 50 (if we take the Henry trade as 25 in). We must be paying a fair whack of his money for that return for the Hawks.

Although I was interested to hear the GW said that pick 41 will likely be more like 35 once picks in the 30s and earlier are eaten up by FS matching.

The Lions have 34,35,36,38 before 41; all of which will be swallowed up for Ashcroft. So 41 likely to be at least 37 or slightly lower.

Gawn spent a lot of time forward this year with Jackosn rucking and it didn't work. Mcdonald was the missing link forward for them.

Yes - never thought of that angle - however we currently have 3 picks under 30 so it's most likely more than enough for us in this draft.

Agree think we will be at most 3 picks and a Noble upgrade. Don't think we would have used anything over 40 anyway.

Feel like we may even try and package 27 and 51 for Dons pick 22 if they need points for Davey.

Draft then becomes 16,22,25 done.

Great acquisition for Collingwood. Rather than relying on Taylor Adams to be fit and available to win clearances, we now have Mitchell with Adams as a bonus.
Also gives Finn Macrae time to develop without needing to throw him in the deep end before he's ready.
Im hoping he can take Macrae under his wing. Exactly the type of player that Macrae should look to develop into.

Gawn forward didn't work for them this year and it rarely does. I remember when we used to plonk Monkey in the goalsquare and I don't think he took a mark or kicked a goal any time Matthews did it. It looks intimidating but it rarely works.

I wouldn't have bothered with Mitchell but now he is here, his job will be to mark time in the Centre square and at stoppages until nick is physically ready to do so in a full-time capacity.
If Nick takes over in the role of in-and-under clearance pig, then the club will have been doing things drastically wrong. Mitchell is a compliment to Nick, they aren’t going to play the same role.

Feel like he will compliment your game plan quite well. He has some odd games that are elite in the contest.
You will bleed at some of the kicks trust me but feel like it’s a win for you
Taylor Adams has prepared us
